I cannot find much about this on Google, etc.
Seems like they were really grasping for a new race and there are a LOT of better ones out there...
Can anyone explain what these are? if not, I am going to remove them from my set because I have no clue how to explain them to my other players. lol

Thanks for the reply although I am still a bit confused. Why do they grow in numbers the more people reject them for instance? lol
I dunno - they just don't seem to fit in with the rest of the races. Seem kinda thrown together. Perhaps if I had played more D&D...maybe I am the only one who just does not get it.

I think Homunculi fit the themes of Smallworld pretty well, considering they're creatures created solely to do the bidding of their creator. The perfect troops, really. I don't know that I could explain thematically why they increase in number as people pass them up, but you won't care when you have 15 Pillaging Homunculi tearing up the board. Good times!

For the theme, they look like they're being created in flasks. Maybe the more they're skipped, the more time has passed, allowing more to be 'grown'. (?)

Either way, its a pretty cool concept as a race - if the dwarves gained tokens by being passed up, I would use them more often.

Now that I understand a little more what they are, this answer seems to make the most sense.
OK I am on board with this Race now!
Thanks
