Attention Officers!
Intelligence reported that a special Achievement can be earned today Friday November 19 (Normandy Time).
Reports are incomplete, but it seems that the "Historian" Achievement has something to do with the anniversary date of a battle.
HQ suggests that you perform some research and take action if you want to earn this special ribbon...

Got it! That's is a pretty neat feature, looking forward to more of the same. It's a great way to get a little history and to play some battles you might otherwise overlook or play infrequently.

There's no misprint in the base-game handbook. Today's a anniversary date of a battle.

I know, and I've played the battle and got the badge. But my base game lists that battle as 19-21 September 1944, not November

Wikipedia November 19 1941: World War II: Battle between HMAS Sydney and HSK Kormoran. The two ships sink each other off the coast of Western Australia, with the loss of 645 Australians and about 77 German seamen.
Didn't know we had the naval version live yet

Well I googled out today and this came out :
19 th November, 1944 : Russians had invaded 15 miles northeast of Budapest, along the Danube River north of the capital of Hungary. Within the same time period, Americans were moving in on Japanese forces in the Philippines. This was one of many significant and fierce World War II battle days.
But as far as I know, eastern and pacific expansion hasn't been released yet, so ..

Yes, this is an error in the base game booklet. It was corrected in the Air Pack book. It is November.

Congratulations, you found a bug.
The date at the database level is correct. So it's just a display/format issue.

You need to play it with a person and I believe win on that side. At least that was the case with me.

You need to play it with a person and I believe win on that side. At least that was the case with me.

Yeah, I played it vs Johnny and didn't get it, but when I played a real person, even thought I lost, I got it...unless there is a different one for winning vs losing. Mine just says I played on a historic day.

Just played Saverne Gap vs. Jesse (lost 4-5 as the Allies).
I didn't get the achievement either. Hopefully, they'll make it retroactive. I have to travel today, and will have no more time to play.

Beware, Achievements are earned only when playing Standard games (ie against a human player). Playing against Johnny will not give you any.

I just played, and won on the 20th and got the special achievement award. So it is available on the 20th.
