Some questions

1. Why do ingots cost the same in Euros as they do in USD? I'm in the UK and would be much better off buying in dollars using paypal.
2. When will the expert content be ready?
3. Will overlord scenarios and battlemaps be supported? If not that's pretty much game over for me. Overlord format is ten times better than vanilla M44.
4. If so will 8 player games be supported?
5. Please drop the additional charges for special units. They are part of the scenarios and it just looks like moneygrabbing.
6. How do you make the wirecutters work?
7. If I buy ingots can I change my username which is still a guest one?
Thanks in advance.

I only have an answer for one of your questions, but I've used the wire cutters by double-clicking. During the battle phase, infantry may remove wire instead of attacking, so I double-click on my unit that has the cutters displayed. It's sort of like "attacking" the hex my unit is in.

I've got to say that this is the one thing about the pay system I'm having real problems with, I just don't get the rational behind it. When I first read that you could pay a few extra GIs for bonus stuff I thought that was a little strange and probably wouldn't do it cause I thought it was to add to the scenario...but to charge extra for stuff that is part of the scenario is a little annoying. I played a few AI games last night and one against a real person (loved every second, by the way) and the only minor thing that soured the experience was having to pay more for special forces, etc that are already part of a nicely balanced scenario. So I played a few games without the extras cause I just couldn't bring myself to pay 5 GIs vs what might only be 1 or 2 otherwise.
Sorry if I'm ranting, I really love what you've done with the game, and can see myself getting a lot more of this great game played even if I can't always get people over, I'm even mostly OK with the pay system...but I really don't care for some scenarios costing more just because of their design.
Thx,
N

Wow, lots of questions. I will do my best to answer them:
1. Because currency exchange rates vary all the time, sometimes significantly in a single day; because the fees charged by the payment providers we use for processing Euros vs Dollars payments are different; and so do Taxes.
2. As stated in the FAQ thread, it is still in development and we don't know: we'll ship it as soon as it's stable enough.
3. Eventually yes, but not anytime soon. We still have lots to do as it stands, to ship 1.0, add more scenarios, etc...
4. Yes, we'd love to but we don't know for sure yet. This is NOT a trivial undertaking, for a number of reasons (game engine, UI, etc..)
5. Nope, this won't happen. We are charging a varying cost per scenario because the amount of work it requires to develop different scenarios varies depending on the special rules and/or special units it uses. This won't change. And yes, you can think of money grabbing on our part, in that we need to make money for that work, sorry.
6. As already mentioned by someone else, when the unit's time to battle comes simply double-click on the hex in lieu of firing at a target, and the wires will disappear.
7. Your screen name can be changed at any time by accessing your Profile page. This is completely independent of Gold Ingots purchases. What you cannot do is purchase Gold Ingots for an account and then transfer these to a different account.

A special unit doubles the cost of a scenario, and that does not seem comensurate with the additional work involved. Your argument doesn't pass muster
I think you will lose more revenue than you gain if you stick to that pricing format.
I've already spent over £200 on the game and I would have thought sensible pricing was the way to go.
You've already departed from charging a flat fee as it is.

A weekend sale on STEAM for a flat fee would make you more money then your gonna get with the current system I would bet.
Game is great just like the board game but the fact that many scenarios are heavily weighted for one side ( and thats ok its a challenge but its no fun paying to be the underdogin a heavily sided match)
This along with the pay for the meant to be used units is going to make alot of people stop after the free beta i would suspect.
I'm telling you I would pay $30 bucks flat fee for unlimited play time but i wont pay anythign for limited play time..
Now the question is can you find enough people to pay double that $30 total to make up for every person like me ?

There seems to be a lot of logic in "OverCharged"'s statement.

I agree, this ingot system is horrid. I love DOW but this reallly let out the steam regarding my anticipation for this game ( over the last several years of waiting).
I would gladly pay a one time fee of even 60 bucks and pay for add on paks in the future (Air pak, overlord, etc...). But playing the game with a kind of timer that will run out unless you pay more and more to keep playing?
Horrid.
Just my 2 cents.
