EK ist the abbreviation for the most frequently awarded and best known German medal of all time, the Eisernes Kreuz (Iron Cross), and the number denominates the class (second and first).

It was a lot of fun trying for the Commando-Infantry badge, especially since using the Artillery effectively is important for the Allies at Arnhem. So the key was to make sure that my Artillery would weaken the units, but not eliminate them.
|
Doh! All this while I was thinking it was done by playing as the Axis. Forgot that all the Allied units were rangers.
Thanks to your guidance, I have managed to bag another achievement. It was real close though, 5-4. All my ranger units wiped out except for 1 last unit with a single figure that delivered the killing blow

Am I crazy? My heart rate increased a little as I played my last card allowing one of my units to roll into Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer for the win at Omaha. Great game.

Having crushed the last Tommy resistance at Arnheim, I was just informed that by order of GFM Model, I have been promoted to Hauptmann and awarded the Ritterkreuz.

Do I understand the historian achievement correctly? We can get it by simply playing St. Vith on the 20th of this month?

Yes, any scenario played on its historical date will give you this achievement.

Unfortunately, after Dec. 20 it will take nearly six months before this achievement can be earned the next time ... although I'm looking forward to play the five D-Day scenarios on their historical date.

Maybe we will have more scenarios to choose from before then. Have there been any hints as to when the official release will be?

I really should take notes when I'm playing, ESPECIALLY when something goes wrong but I would like to know if this is a bug.
I was on a scenario, name forgotten, where whichever side holds the most town hexes gets a medal. I held one town square and my opponent held the other. I had a tank kill a single unit of his, overrun attacked the single unit in the town square and then took ground into the town.
This earned me the medal, so I should have gotten the "Armor Excellent" achievement but did not. Does it have to occur where it doesn't win you the game? Those last three medals ended the game, so maybe it doesn't catch it in the game. Or is it something special about the type of town medal? Maybe it has to be the type where you simply get a medal (that's placed on the hex) instead of where you receive it for doing something else related to the town.
I was able to get the Whitman, although I don't remember the circumstances of that one. It kind of shocked me at the time, since it looks cooler than the other achievements to me, hehe.
One more question. Can you earn multiple achievements with the same earning? If you manage to kill 4 enemy units with an air power card, do you get both the kill 2 version and the kill 4 version at the same time?

I think to get Armor Excellence -- it cannot win you the game. If it did win you the game, it would be the Wittman award, but you already have it. Weird, but I think that's how the program works.
No, you cannot earn the 2 version and the 4 version at the same time. To get the 2 unit award, you need to kill only two units. Again, it's a little strange, but it seems to work that way.

That makes sense on the 2 and 4 version, otherwise it would kind of make the 2 kill version seem less impressive.
Most of the time I've got time restrictions so I look for 4 medal games, which is what this one was I think, so that one will be hard to get. I just played that 10 medal map recently and I was mentally tired by the end of the first game, and slightly dreading the rematch. It was fun in the end though.

Thanks in advance for any relevant answer.

Ive tried to ... maybe I have to dig more to the past.
What was my point is, that if there is any list of all of them. Mostlikely, some of the threads here are discussing just some specific achievements.

M44 online has been public since November 2010.
There is less than 18 months of data to search.
Have fun.

Which ones would you like to know about?
I stopped the list after DoW created the list on the website. However, I have most of the achievements and don't mind sharing the criteria. There's no reason it should be a secret.

The information isn't secret, it has been previously posted on tis forum.
All that is required is a search and examination of the results.
Too many new members expect to be spoon fed information that is readily available to them.
A little effort by them will yield the results they want.
They can then share that information if they choose to show how clever they are.

I prefer to welcome members to the community and assist them with the information they would like. To each their own, I guess...
The site with all the acheivements is here: http://www.daysofwonder.com/memoir44-online/en/achievements/
I believe that the only awards without a description are the classified ones, and they are all in the expert list. Here are the requirements as best as I can remember:
Overrun Bronze, Overrun Silver, and Old Man are still secret as nobody has earned them yet. They've been available for over a year now, so they must be rather difficult to earn.
Total Victory requires you to win a battle with your opponent earning no medals.
Advanced Historian requires you to play all the 16 base game scenarios on their historical date. This award has been awarded in the past for playing 15 out of the 16 historical battles, but I don't know if it has been fixed.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions about the awards.

Give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he will be fed forever.
I don't believe I was unwelcoming.
I merely pointed out that the information is available for those who look.
Too many newer members seem to expect all answers to be given to them without them expending any effort.
If my son had asked me the original question I would have told him to search for it too.
He, my son, would better off learning how to search than simply being spoon fed answers to his questions.
Welcome all new members.
There is a wealth of information and answers in this forum.
Many of the questions you want to ask will have already been asked and answered.
Please use the search functionality to find the information.
If, after searching, you can't find an answer please ask your question, but please try searching first.
Many thanks and always have fun.

Has there been any confirmation by DoW that these awards have actually been activated?
