Memoir '44 Online Beta 18

Dear Memoir '44 Online Officer:
We just built a new "quick fix" Beta 18 version of Memoir '44 Online. This release fixes two issues that many players reported on Beta 17 during the past 24 hours:
- In some cases, the game could freeze when performing Armor Overrun attacks with tanks using the North-African Desert Rules.
- If an attacking Axis unit was killed upon a British "Stiff Upper Lip" battle-back, the medal would be given to the wrong player (the Axis player). We're sure that Field Marshal Montgomery would not have been happy about this, so we fixed it.
Thanks to everyone who reported these high-traffic issues. Enjoy the new version during this week-end, and have fun!

No, the scenario is correct. I think you are confusing Air Sortie (which is a card introduced in the Air Pack, and which indeed doesn't come into play in these desert scenarios), and Air Power (which is a card of the standard deck, and which can come in play here and everywhere else).
When you see the sentence Air rules are not in effect. The Air Sortie cards are set aside and not used in this mission, all it means is that the rules of the Air Pack (and the Air Sortie cards that came with it) are not in play.

I'm glad those errors were corrected so quickly!
Did you happen to fix the Airfield scenario so that the Axis side starts with a medal? That seems like it may be more complicated to code.

I just played Sidi Rezegh, and that bug obviously is still there. But this is only a minor nuisance and will surely be corrected with Beta 19. Thanks to the DoW team for doing such a terrific good job!

Not yet. In the meantime activating that unit to move it out and back on the hex will get you the medal (and so is usually worth doing as 1 Order )

Has anyone had issues downloading the installer? I seem to freeze around the 13.6mb vs. 15.6mb range.

I had no problems downloading the installer. Have you tried it in different browsers? Are you downloading to a network drive, like at work (not that anybody would fritter away their work time ) , or a personal one at home?

And for the record, I only downloaded it at work once.
