Attention newcomers! Don't forget to confirm your account

If you signed up on Days of Wonder Online just to play to Memoir '44 Online, there is one thing you might forget to do: confirming your account.
To comply to the "double opt-in" good practice, every new user who signs up on our web site receives an e-mail that contains a confirmation link (with his login name and password).
Make sure you click on this confirmation link. This confirms that your e-mail address was valid and that you agree with the sign-up.
If you don't, your account will be automatically canceled after 7 days. Which will result in blocking your access to Memoir '44 Online
Don't worry, we can reactivate your account, but just to save time and headaches, please go through the confirmation step.
How can you know if you are fine? Go to the DoW Web site home page: http://www.daysofwonder.com and make sure you are logged in. If you see a yellow message telling you that your account is not confirmed, follow the directions.
Thanks for your attention,
Yann

Hello, I do not think of having made this stage and when I want to play in mémoire44 on-line, I do not manage to connect.
Then, I click the link indicated in the message and there I have no message written in yellow.
What do I have to make?
( I erased the e-mail containing the link which I had to click.)

Jepetetoo, your account is confirmed, so it worked. Don't worry about it anymore.

Hello
I made an account, got the confirmation email, clicked the link and it said it was activated. I changed my loginname and pass. The account worked as I was able to logout/login.
I have the M44 First Mission Instructions email with a confirmation of my enrollment.
Though, when I start the game and want to connect, it keeps telling me that the login and pass don't match. Tried it like 10 times (even with copy/paste) and changing my account pass, but it didn't work.
Any idea what is going wrong?
Thanks,
Patrick

Hallo frankeytje, thanks, it seems I'm not the only one then. Could you please answer a few questions so we can see what we have in common?
Do you use the same account on your girlsfriend's pc dan on yours? If it is a new account, when did you set it up?
What file did you use to install the game (was this different on the other pc?) I used the file: M44Online_1_0-beta18
What is your configuration?
I'm running windows XP 64-bit edition with Comodo Internet Security and I am behind a router.
I tried to run it without the Firewall, but that didn't help. Creating a new account or reinstalling the game didn't fix it either.
Thanks,
Patrick

Check you don't have any non-standard characters (like '%') in your password or login name. Try with a simpler password to check.

Thanks for your help, but no. Even tried the login/pass which you automatically get with a new account. Same mismatch unfortunately.
I just sent an error report...

Same account
Same install file(i even tried to re-install several times)
Configuration: Windows XP AVG Free and behind a router, but the same router as the other two
it would be great to be able to play on that pc, cause the others are used in large music processes, but ill live

Thanks man. Though, I still have no clue.
Could you please check another thing for me (if you haven't sent an error report)? I want to see whether we have the same problem.
If you don't mind; go to the "Memmoir'44 Online" folder on the pc which gives the mismatch error. Then open the "log" folder and open the file "output" (use notepad or Word of something). See if you can find the error line:
java.net.SocketException: Network is down: JVM_Bind
(you can use the search option for that in notepad/word)
If you find the same error we could exclude some more options to search.

Try to send in a Bug Report to the developers and tell them exactly what's going on. They are the ones who can help you the most!
You can find a link to the Bug Report Form down in my signature area...good luck and welcome!!

Hi,SIS79. I had the exact same problem on my acount and have heard from several other poeple about the same problem. Then, I tried logging into the game (not the DoW webpage) without using capital letters (even though my login has capital letters) and it worked. So I would suggest trying that and I hope it works so you can join the ever increasing ranks of M44 online players.

Thanks for the advice. Tried to type my login without Capitals, but didn't help.
I'm afraid I'll have to stay a private soldier for quite a bit longer

I'm still unable to play (beta 22 does give the same login/pass mismatch). Does anyone of you who had the mismatch problem been able to play? If you do, please let me know how you fixed it.
Thanks in advance.

I had a comma in my password
upon deleting it, it worked,
I suggest you try using only small letters and no signs, numbers or whatsoever , or a new password containing only small letters
it's not said it will work, but it's worth the try
good luck

I wish it was that. But I am using the standard login/pass given by DoW, so that one should work. Thanks for the help though.
Anyone else?

Our data center had some problems, so this might have been the issue. Do you still have this problem?

No, I tried every thing I could think of, but I always get that same mismatch error. I sent a bug report some weeks ago. Got a reply but no solution. That's why I am asking here again to see whether somebody came up with something to make it work.
I don't know how many people are having this problem, but they might find out in questionnaire that has recently been sent to people.
