I like the idea for all 4 players in the final being able to play.
need to make sure of good and clear ruling what to do in case of 2-2 and of course, if only 3 are able to play, then we stick with that possibility.
but basically, if all 4 from both teams can play, it would be a nice idea!

Difficult to say, it sounds good, but some teams are very balanced (four players with nearly same strength), some have only two or three top players, but maybe this is not good enough to reach the final... Laughing
Nevertheless, I think, you cannot force both teams to play the final with the complete team, but if both teams are willing to play the final with all four players it's great. Razz

I'd support the comment of Luc Thumbs Up about the inequal strength of teams that may be in final. Building your team was clearly dependent on your TTR network.

If there's an agreement of both teams, then fine.

PS : Any news about tie-breaker ? Razz Very Happy

Just a note on scheduling:
When we were looking into the CL for this year, we realized we had a late start. So we set a schedule to try to move quickly to finish in an appropriate time frame. We did this with a thought that Single Player World Championship (SPWC), European Map Championship (EMC) and the Swiss Map Championship (SMC) would begin in April. We did not want too much overlap.

But maybe we did not need to worry. No action happening on that that I see. Is someone organizing this? Or has the "World TTR League seasons" that never seem to end, overtaken open tournaments?

Anyway, our decision for wanting the line-ups in quickly even if all games were not completed by play-off date closing was based on 2 factors: getting this tournament done in a timely way to respect: SPWC, EMC, & SMC and not having it linger so long that people lose interest. Does it matter that much which team you are playing on who you are scheduling in which slot? If so, That surprises me.

In tikipedia, it is said HOT is already 1st in the standings of our group. Can someone please explain me why Smile ?

First tie-breaker = head to head : does that take into account the number of games won, or just only the clashes results ?

Thx in advance Smile !

OK I will undertake to answer this question now.
1. I do not know why HOT is listed first, but tie breaker refers to rule 8.3 "8.3 To decide upon ranking for the Knockout stage, the order of tiebreakers is as follows: head-to-head record; number of clashes won; number of matches won; number of games won less the number of games lost."

So in this case: if head to head = 1 to 1,
then number of clashes won (in group); = 3-3
then number of matches won (in group); = not known yet, still one match to play.

Note: these tiebreakers (after first head to head note) have to refer to whole in group because it is possible there would be a 3 way tie or even in future a 4 way tie.

Moreover, number of matches won is either 7.5, 8 or 8.5 to 7 in HOT's favor, depending on the last open match.

Always glad to be of help Smile

Yes, massive balls-up on my behalf regarding TAM-DD lineups. (I'm certainly not cut for this TDing malarkey). Play the matches as originally posted, and I'll take all the grief from both sides when results don't go the way they were supposed. Sad

To err is human; to forgive is hopefully in a few TT players psyche. Really sorry TAM and DD. Best of luck to both for the remaining QF matchups.

F4 - G70

womble vs RMarkes

3 - 0

70* - 67 (blocking festival - Rui killed my Van Mon - I managed to get SSM Okla done and get longest. He missed BO MI and a 2nd east tic)
118 - 104* (SSM Okla & Kan Hou vs. SE LA and Port Phoe...better end due to longest for me - Rui draws on last turn but only finds Denv Paso, which he does not have)
133* - 127 (Van Mon Port Phoe & longest vs. Port Nash, LA Chic and Denv Pitts)

If Rui claims to be unlucky...he has a good reason. He did not really have a chance. Sometimes the game is just against you. The result looks much clearer than the games were.

Thanks for the games!

We see each other when you are at home Smile
