It seems that there is some sort of problem with the number of winter road hexes at validation. And hexes still seem to be quite large when moved on the board by drag'n'drop. By the way, it's really cool stuff!

Yes, there is a problem with validation. I used 26 straight winter roads in "The Bulge Breaks Through" scenario, the editor said it was ten short. It isn't because I also used the air pack for hills. Also the ability to zoom in is gone. I really liked it for checking the small yellow numbers on the units.
I'm not nitpicking, just reporting!

Also, every time it starts, I get the following error message:
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Memoir%2744%20Editor/res/dbCache. jsm:72
I click on continue, the other choice is stop script.

| Hmmm, this is strange. You are on Windows, right? Would you have some firewall settings that would prevent the application from connecting to our Web server? You see, when the Editor is launched, it retrieves the list of operations from our Web server. Maybe this is what is being blocked? Are you able to log in using your DoW Online account?
Another possible reason could be that the Editor has a hard time reading the files that it builds in your local directory. The cure is a bit more technical, but still rather easy when you know how to show invisible folders. You have to remove the "Memoir'44 Editor" folder that is located in your personal folder, inside the invisible "Application Data" folder. For example, in my case this is:
C:\Documents and Settings\Yann Corno\Application Data\Days of Wonder, Inc\Memoir'44 Editor
Make sure you quit the application (important!). Move the above "Memoir'44 Editor" folder away (like on your desktop). Launch the Editor again. The "Memoir'44 Editor" folder will be reconstructed automatically. Do you still get the same error message?
Let me know how it goes,
Yann

It worked on my Win7 laptop after copying the install program from my Win XP desktop. The main problems I see are:
1. The persistent script error message when I run it under XP.
2. The validation problem with the straight roads and the frozen straight rivers.
3. The scenarios created with the WW expansion show up in SFTF with the TP badge instead of WW.
But I know you are still working on it and will correct these problems soon.

DoW caught me sleeping under a rock.
Kudos for sneaking this update in just before the weekend.
I have a couple questions... Can a unit have multiple badges attached to it?
Can Engineers (pick any natioanl badge) also have a ATG, mortar or HMG?
From what I just quickly tried only one badge per unit.... ?Never thought to try this before.
Also why was a unit icon not included for Half-tracks or for Patrol cars/jeeps? Yes, there are badges but why no icons?

I don't know if an engineer can have a nations badge, and I couldn't find this in any rule book (I'm still looking), but I think any infantry can only have one badge. That's why they have US engineer, German engineer, BCF engineer, Russian engineer, and Japanese engineer badges.

Sorry, I didn't see your instructions at first. I tried what you said, I moved the folder from \application Data\Days of Wonder\Memoir 44 Editor, and still got the unresponsive script error. Sorry I didn't let you know earlier.

Was the folder re-created automatically when you launched the Editor? (at least, it would prove that it can write there)

Is it possible to set the font type and size? When I open an old map in the new editor, the scenario title is written in the familiar broken capital letters, but when I print the map, the font changes. Also, the line separating the columns in the description text is someone misplaced (too low and over the lower framing of the page).

Any more ideas about the script error I keep getting?
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Memoir%2744%20Editor/res/dbCache. jsm:72
I then have the option to press "continue" or "stop script".

We investigated the bug. It is not always reproducible. The bad news is that it comes from the Mozilla XUL Runner platform that we use, and that the Mozilla guys do not intend to fix it right away. So we need to find a workaround, which is going to take some time.
In the meantime, you can get good-looking PDFs by using the Web site. Save your scenario on Days of Wonder Online, go to the Memoir '44 Web site, display it there and export as PDF. This will do the job.
Sorry about this tricky issue. We'll keep you posted as we make progress.

I found another editor bug! When I loaded an overlord scenario, and went to the page preview, I could not scale the page to get a closer look. I have been able to with BT and standard maps, but not OL. This is on my laptop with Win 7. (and I still get the script error on my XP desktop).

This problem has cropped up on my desktop with XP as well, and it's not just the OL maps. Sometimes I can scale the print view, but more often than not, I cannot and in the view menu, the scaling options are greyed out. Why is this?

This is a constant problem with no solution found. Apparently none found on your end as well. It is also intermittent, where occasionally it works, but more often it does not.

Right click any unit (on the unit itself, not the background hex) and you will open a menu. Badges and figures are in the menu. Figures are the number of figures in the unit.
I hope this helps.

Dear users of the Editor:
We just fixed a bug on the servers today: the author was not properly saved when saving a brand new scenario to DoW Online. As a result, you would not see this scenario in your list. This was happening on scenarios that were created recently.
You will now see these scenarios again in your list of private scenarios.
Sorry about the trouble,
Yann
