Question to captains

I just got promoted to captain on my 37th battle, and I wonder how it compares to others - in other words, when did you get your promotion?
I also have no clue as to the criteria, as my promotion happened very soon after lieutenant promotion - two things that I could discern was 6th victory in a row and winning a match/rematch against a captain.
May the dice be with you.

Hi, You need to win omaha as allies or Arnhem as axis, then you become Captain AFTER your next battle whichever map you play. I was 100 + battles before I managed it with Arnhem. I still have not won Omaha as allies though.

There is a list of clues about what you need for promotions on the Memoir '44 Online web site. It might help you in the future.

From what we've seen and read, neither of your observations would have helped with your promotion to Captain. It has more to do with the tough battles you played (an won as the underdog).

This could also refer to another battle where one side is severely outmatched...the idea is that you have to win a victory despite being a major underdog.

And now that you have joined the growing collection of captains you can work on collecting achievements.
Some of these require specific actions which mean you play a scenario in a different way.

I realize this has been discussed a lot, but to get promoted to captain can you win the Omaha/Arnhem scenario before you get promoted to Lieutenant ? I ask because I won the Omaha scenario as a 2nd Lieutenant and a few games later got promoted to Lieutenant. I assume I will have to try and win Omaha/Arnhem again as a Lieutenant before I can move up to captain ?

Sorry, forgot to add that I did win as the underdog (allies) on Omaha so that is why I was wondering about the captain promotion. Anyway, I've only played around 25 games so I figure it is probably a little too soon to move up to captain rank.

Keep playing, keep winning and achievements, awards and promotions will come your way.
Remember you can't win them all but you can certainly try.

fyi for anyone interested i believe i've cracked the code for the promotion requirements up to captain and perhaps unfortunately i don't think they're nearly as complex as this thread would suggest.
i put my hypothesis in the Promotion Requirements thread since morgiliath nicely put a spoiler alert at the top of that thread for the unsuspecting. feel free to check it out and i welcome feedback.
