Playing M'44 since it's release. I think that I actually preordered it to get the bonus scenarios. Have all the expansions. Play with my son regularly.

What Nygaard said
Other Stuff:
I can't believe there are Steelers fans across the Atlantic. One of our worst Exports. I'm a Philadelphia Eagles fan (and Phillies, Flyers). I play lots of other games, especially Dungeon Twister. I'm involved in the International Dungeon Twister League and have fun running tournaments for that in the Southeast US.
I wish there were a M'44 league in the US...

Location: Essex, England
Age: 40
Occupation: part-time Director of a UK charity.
M44 credentials: Have gradually gathered the entire set over the last 18 months, and get to play reasonably regularly with my gaming group, with an emphasis on playing the Overlord version, with occasional standard 2 player scenarios.
nb. I am missing however, the Air Pack, which is impossible to buy in the UK
Fav WW2 movie: I'd have to go with Das Boot .. when I've got 3 hours spare to watch it !
Mem 44 Online: I usually try to get online 2 or 3 times a week.
I was once in the heady heights of the top 150 rankings, but this last month has seen my dice turn against me in quite outlandish ways, and I'm outside of the top 500 now ... feeling too battle-scarred to ever play again at the moment! lol
Other stuff: I'm founder of a local boardgaming club www.southendboardgamers.co.uk which I enjoy attending in my spare time, and where I play all manner of boardgames. I also enjoy jogging, and watching my beloved Tottenham Hotspurs' football team play whenever I can. I also love to play footie at any opportunity. I enjoy drinking single malt whiskey with a good cigar, with my mates. I'm a committed Christian, and help lead a church for half the week. I have a gorgeous wife and two great teenage kids who all keep me on my toes, and regularly remind me what a lucky man I am

Location: Near Chicago, IL, USA
Age: 34, going on 22.
Occupation: English Teacher (nearly finished PhD in American Literature), Golf Coach
M44 Credentials: Loved Richard Borg's Battle Cry, like Memoir '44 even more. I have custom painted my base game, EF, PT, MT, and Air Pack expansions.
Mem 44 online?: No time. In the summers, I am often too busy with softball, basketball, and golf.
Other Stuff: Since we're picking sports teams, I'm a pretty big Bulls fan. I have been teaching literature and writing for almost a decade, and although I teach at an elite public high school now, I designed and taught a great college course on the literature of World War Two that incorporated fiction, history texts, and even film.
I have also taught a seminar course on "The World War Two Combat Film," with a focus on *Band of Brothers.* My literature courses always focus on historical context. In other words, if you're ever looking for a good fiction or non-fiction read on WWII, or a movie recommendation, I'm your guy

Other Stuff:
I also play Battletech, Axis and Allies board game, and Settlers of Catan.
Some day I would like to buy Tide of Iron, but it is pricey. I wish there were more M44 players here in Washington.

Mem44 Credentials: Picked it up as a sto-gap waiting for the reprint of Commands and Colors Anicents, got hooked, now have all the expansions (except the campaign bag), plus various C&C Anicents and Naps. Merely lacking a broader range of opponents than my wife and my dad when he comes to visit.
Do You Play M44 online: occassionally. Not sure if I have the mental energy to keep getting destroyed at Arnhem until I reach Captain tho.
Favourite WWII Movie: I'm going to follow the OP and say Kelly's Heroes, but I'm sure it changes periodically.
Other stuff: If i don't get off this forum and do some work soon, I might find myself full-time on a M$$ soon (although with no money for ingots )

Location: Warsaw, Poland
Age: 34
Occupation: I have my own companies in real estate and education sector.
Credentials: Playing M'44 for one year. Have EF, TP expansions, Disaster at Dieppe and all the boards. Now, hunting for Winter Wars...
M'44 online: No, I played solo couple of times. I prefer Vassal with some home rules.
Favorite WWII movie: "Jak rozpetalem Druga Wojne Swiatowa" (eng: "How I Unleashed World War II") - it is polish comedy (additionally best polish comedy ever) and I feel sorry for all people who haven't seen this movie.
Other Stuff: I love board games! When I was young I designed many of them. There is lot of stuff in the store you can play but only few is worth it. M'44 is one of them, because it contains strategy I accept and take about an hour play.
Now I design my own board game with map 2 times bigger than overlord, with more real strategy, ability to prepare to fight, with taking prisoners, masking the units, spies, without any cards but decisions points you can use each turn.
I'm also WWII fan

I've been playing the game for 3 years. I have all expansions (except the Campaign Bag) and I love to create campaigns. The reason why I bought the game is that I got bored by Real Time Strategy games on computer, both my eyes and I needed a little rest.
Do you play M44 Online?
Very rarely. School doesn't permit me to do so. Even with enough spare time, I go for a solo game on the real board...
Favorite WWII Movie:
The Dirty Dozen and Letters from Iwo Jima - fantastic films!
Others:
Roller riding, Catan and a little poker. And on some Fridays I go to the local gaming club (mostly to play Memoir, but also to try some other games out).

*Best Years of Our Lives* is an amazing film -- great pick. No "greatest generation" nonsense, no comic book glorification of war, no romantic depiction of its trauma...just guys trying to live their lives afterward. It really shows you how our views of that war have changed since 1946. Powerful stuff -- I wish more people had seen it.

Bournemouth (South coast of England )
Age

Occupation
Marine Engineer
(Spend most of my life sailing around the world on a cruise ship)
M44 credentials
Only started playing less than a year ago. (luckily I've been able to purchase the complete set (Including the campaign bag!)
For the British amongst us the air pack was very difficult to get hold of. (I ended up getting mine in Miami)
M44 On-line
Yes I play lots when I am at home. (About 2 months)
Then I will go AWOL for about 4 months
Internet access on-board is very slow and expensive, which is not good for M44 on-line.
Favourite WW2 movie
Saving Private Ryan
Other stuff
I originally started out with 25mm Ancients and Renaissance armies way back in the early 1970's!!
I still have all of the original figures and armies.
Always enjoyed board games and belong to a good local club
DOW have an excellent selection of well made and enjoyable games
Used to play a lot of TTR on-line but find the people there are just not as friendly and informative as the people who are obsessed with M44 (I list myself in this category)

If you think 48 is bad, wait a couple of years! I became disabled at 52! Hey, I like BC also, and have thought about getting the new version. However as far as I know, it doesn't get the kind of support that M44 does. Too bad, as it's another good RBorg game!

Welcome to the forum!!
If you enjoy Memoir '44 Online I think you'll really like the table-top version. There's something really satisfying about moving the little plastic men around, and even though it takes longer to set up than the computer version, the social aspect is wonderful when you're playing with your family or friends!
