Ticket to Ride is stealing my locomotives

Tell me if I'm missing something here. Say I'm trying to complete Palermo to Smyrna on the European map. In my hand I have 4 red and 4 locomotives, so I drag and drop my reds over the segment. But instead of playing 4 reds and 2 locomotives, it automatically plays 4 locomotives and 2 reds. Obviously it's better to complete the segment an have left over locomotives rather than left over reds.
So is this a bug or am I doing it wrong?

What you must be doing wrong is dragging your locomotive on the ferry route. Try dragging a red card instead and the software will automatically pick 4 red and 2 locos.
However, if you drag a Locomotive, this tells the software to use Locomotives in priority (which might be what you want to do when you claim Tunnel routes) and so in this case, it will indeed grab 4 locos and 2 reds.
But if you drag a red card instead of a loco onto the route, you will be fine.

In solo mode, there is indeed a bug with Ferries: if you have more locos than needed, they may be taken instead of using regular cards.
Fix in next update.

Here's another weird one along the same lines. I had two locomotives and a random single red train car. On a lark, I dragged the red car onto the ferry route between London and Amsterdam just to see if it would allow it (the ferry route between London and Amsterdam requires two locomotives only). The game allowed me to do this, and did something surprising: instead of taking only two locomotives from my hand, it two took locomotives *and* the red car.

 That'll teach you to do things for a lark!!  I imagine that's not a bug that would be discovered very easily. Nice job.
