Only one token per slot...
There are two things you could be asking about:
1) The warehouse cards and spaces on your Family card.
2) The Goods spots at each port that you try to bid for.
In both cases, though, you still only get to put one token per slot.

Ah, yes. I can see how that would be appealing. That would make buying the Warehouse card fairly useless... 
Of course you can keep playing with that house rule if you want! As long as you're having fun it doesn't matter too much!!
