Enjoy and have fun with the Campaign Book!

Great stuff... thanks!
Are we allowed (or is it recommended) to use Position Control rules in previously published campaigns?

Included with my Player Aid? No.
Included with the Campaign Book? I'm not sure...maybe someone who already has their copy can tell us.

You're always allowed to play however you want. So far it hasn't been recommended that you use the new Position Control Rules on any other scenarios but it would be easy to put the rules in place on your own.
I imagine that future scenarios will include some of these types of new rules, since they're easy to plug in and don't require people to own a certain expansion. But that's just conjecture on my part!

Thanks for the info.
Now I'm waiting for the owners of CB2.
BTW : I ordered my copy in a toy shop in Belgium. I don't know when I'm gonna get it.

Well done as always, Jesse. I really like the new Position control rule. If only the book could swim across the Atlantic a little faster.
Will you been doing campaign sheets for this volume too, like you did for the first one?
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and Beth!

I wish I could help with that...but sadly the mail system works at its own pace!!

I've already done them (like the Player Aid, I've been holding onto them for a while now) so you'll see them online sometime soon. Who knows, you might even get to look them over before you get the book...though I hope your book comes too fast for that to happen!
Merry Christmas to you and your family as well! I hope it's a great one.

The rule states: "Position control rules are in effect in all of the scenarios of this campaign book, and we recommend that you use them in every campaign that you will play through."
Thanks for the new player aid, and I'm looking forward to the campaign sheets. Will you be doing roll call documents for Winter Wars and the Campaign Books?

I think it's because you can choose take objective medal what can give you major objective. It's different if you take the medal for killing enemy unit or if you can reach an main goal of game (bridge, city...).
Just trying..didnt play any campaign yet.

Correct, when playing a campaign, you get specific extra points for taking objective hexes. Sometime, you may also loose points if you don't !

| 50th wrote on Wed, 21 December 2011 20:15 | I'm not sure how position control changes anything. If you take the medal objective anyway, then move forward one, and that ends the game, what is the purpose of moving forward one hex? The enemy unit you took had to be on the medal objective if I read it right. So why would moving forward one instead of getting the medal for eliminating the unit be an advantage? Of course I'm reading this from your help sheet, and don't have the new campaign book yet. Wedding plans have to come first, priorities and all that.
|
You're right, in a normal game this rule won't be very helpful (or different, as you pointed out) but in a Campaign it can be a big deal! So this rule is designed for the Campaign system more than anything.
