Memoir '44 - The Second World War - PLAYTESTERS!

First of all, let me introduce to you to the greatest and most ambitious project of all, the one which includes most official and community campaigns: Memoir '44 - The Second World War.
In the last days of 2011, an idea popped up in my mind while I was in bed, suffering from indigestion (I almost missed out the whole New Year's Eve action): what if players could finally play the whole war in the game if they wanted? Maybe it is time... to create the first ever Grand Grand Campaign of all times!
So I uploaded a little something on my user page, a file in which I sketched in the big plan.
Sketch: http://cdn.daysofwonder.com/uploads/userpages/455417/_5373.p df
Early War:War:http://cdn.daysofwonder.com/uploads/userpages/455417/_53 80.pdf
Late War:War:http://cdn.daysofwonder.com/uploads/userpages/455417/_53 79.pdf
Scenarios: Scenarios:http://cdn.daysofwonder.com/uploads/userpages/4554 17/_5381.pdf
All campaigns show how the Allies progress. It's the same for the Axis, it's just the other way around.
It DOES seem a lot of work, but taking into account that about 90% of the scenarios needed are already published, only linking needs to be done, it becomes a lot easier.
Current progress: Linking 100% (47 out of 47 campaigns done)
People needed:
LOTS of playtesters
Someone who can make catchy graphics (later)
Note, that this project requires all expansions of the game.
Opinions and volunteers please!

Great project nemesszili. You know, I'm doing something similiar by now. But step by step. I have chosen best and most important scenarios from Eastern Front and I made the list of them. I'm testing it with two of my budies - we are playing scenarios chronologically. In the second step I'll make a list of scenarios from North Africa and Defence Polish War in 1939. And so on...
If you are interested I can share my experiences with you.

I'm working on a Patton campaign (designed after the Audie Murphy campaign). It takes place in France from the battles around Arracourt to the Moselle Saar Triangle. I would have it finished by now, but I'm getting married in about two weeks and that is slowing the work down. Hope to finish it soon.

Nice idea. Is there currently anywhere online where players can(or have already) posted there own 'unofficial' campaigns? I'm looking to posting my Soviet-Finnish WInter War campaign once completed & would not mind having a look at any other campaigns posted by other players!

Campaigns that have been created by other players are available on their User Pages...there isn't a central place where all of the player-created projects are gathered. If you wanted to create a Fan Page and ask everyone to send you a copy of their Campaigns, you could do that!

I'm glad to help. The User Pages are pretty easy to use and they are a great place to post projects, ideas, pictures, and other things that you want to share with the Memoir '44 Community.
If you run into any trouble, I'm sure other people here on the forums will be happy to help or answer questions! Have fun and good luck!!

Maybe DOW should create a page which collects the user created campaigns, like they have done for the user created maps for TtR?
Just a thought.

I thought about that as well. For it to work, they would have to create an official way for people to create Campaigns like the scenario creator...and I think they're already busy with other digital projects.
Another idea I had was for DoW to create a page where people can upload PDF files similar to the User Pages but dedicated to Campaigns. Then I realized it would require someone on staff to updated and upload the files, and I'm guessing they don't have time or energy for something like that.
The final idea I had was for a fan to create their own "Memoir '44 Campaigns" fan site and collect all of the fan-created Campaigns. Then they could upload all of the campaigns in one place for people. But that requires someone with the time and knowledge to create the web site...it would require everyone to send in their Campaigns or give permission for them to be used...and it would have to be updated every so often to include new Campaigns as they were created.
Anyway, those were my thoughts!

Good thoughts they were.
I was more thinking along the lines of making a page in the Advanced Play or campaign sections that had links to known fanmade campaigns. I am not talking about hosting them, just providing links to campaigns.
Maybe they could give Nemezzili the responsibility of keeping it up to date.
There was a thread some time ago that attempted to collect all campaigns, both official and fanmade, but it dissapeared since it wasn't sticky.
And those were my thoughts.

That would be fun. Posting campaigns online like they were scenarios. We should call it CFTF (Campaigns From The Front).

Sure, I would take the job. (btw, it's nemesszili).

A sticky topic should solve the whole thing. Only DoW needs to be talked to (or are they listening to us the whole time?).

Check my user page for the campaigns!
I guess it's also my very last Memoir project, as the whole war has been covered...
Have fun!

It sounds interesting!

Playtesters: check my user page for the files. You are free to play any of them, just report the results on this topic please.
Almilcar: that's a neat idea! A booklet of these! Tell me your suggestions by PM.
