I would absolutely buy Ticket to Ride for the iPhone without a second of hesitation.
That goes for most DOW games. Make an app, and I'll buy it!
I fantasize about online or downloadable versions of Maerklin and Small World as it is . . . never dared to dream of a phone game!

I don't know if DOW is planning on anything, but I am going to start programming some stuff and I am totally going to make Ticket to Ride and Memoir 44. I have been dying for something like that so I am going to do it.

I'd love to have Ticket to Ride on my (future) iPad
It would be perfect if it would also support playing the game with multiple people around the same table (perhaps by supporting an iPod Touch to display the players cards).

I'd defiantly buy TTR for my iPhone if it became available.
I like the sound of the idea to use iPhone to support iPad version, similar to the way scrabble has tile rack on iPhone, game board on iPad. (hope that makes sense!!)

Are there any plans announced or even being discussed for TTR on Android tablets or phones?

There are no plans announced or discussed for Android versions of TTR. DoW doesn't really indicate plans or discuss their plans before they become a reality, but in this respect they have said that they have no plans for developing an Android version at this time.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
