scenario Condition of Victory? Fri, 20 April 2012 12:09
From the Conditions of Victory of the Hedgerow Breach (scenario # 35 - CB Vol 2):

"Pont-Brocard, le Mesnil-Herman and Cerisy-la-Salle are each a Permanent Medal Objective for the Allied player. The Allied player must hold at least one of these objectives to win the game."

I have underline "must hold".

I am assuming that if the Allies get to one or more of these objectives the normal Permanent Objective rules are followed. However, in order to win they must occupy at least of of these hexes when their medal count is 10 (or more).

For example:

The Allies have eliminated 8 German units. They then occpuy Pont Brocard and get the PM medal for that town which gets them to 9 medals. The Allied unit that took that town is then eliminated. The allies then kill off another German unit which brings their medal total to 10 but they must then occupy one of the three PM objecitve towns to win?

I think this is strange. Why have a permanent objective if it must be held at game end?
It goes against the standard interpretation of permanent objectives.

Sure it isn't a translation error when translating from jdrommel's original and should be must take one of the objective instead of hold?

Only way to know is to ask the source.

Hello all,

Ad79 is right, there is a translation error in the victory conditions of this scenario.

The good victory conditions should be : 10 medals.
Pont-Brocard, le Mesnil-Herman and Cerisy-la-Salle are each a Permanent Medal Objective for the Allied player. The Allied player must have 10 medals including one medal token (from a Permanent Medal Objective).

It means that the Allied player is not obliged to hold one of these objectives.

I hope this answer helps you. Smile

Yours,
Jdrommel.
