TTR Steam & Online Confusion

Hi all, hoping you folks can help me out as I have some confusion regarding the different versions of Ticket to Ride out there. I see that you can buy Ticket to Ride Online at the DOW website. I also saw that Ticket to Ride has been released on Steam. The steam version states it has multiplayer and 'cross platform' ability.
My questions that need clarifying:
A) Are these two versions the same?
If not:
B) If I buy the steam version can I play online via the web interface, or am I limited to playing with just the PC version?
C) If I want to play via the web interface, do I have to buy the version on the Ticket to Ride Online site?
My brother and I would like to play and the web version would be handy (for those quick work lunch games).
Thanks for clarifying!
Jon

| No, even if the core of the game remains the same, the Steam version provides a must richer experience than the Web game: high resolution user interface, video and in-game tutorial, etc.

| You will be able to play with the Web game, provided that you log in on the Web site with your Steam login and password. This is important. Note that the current account that you have was not created using the Steam login button, so that's not the one that will be used.

| No - again, as long as you log in on the Web site using your Steam login.

| Sure. Just make sure that each of you use a different account if you don't want to see your game history and ranking being mixed up.
Have fun!

There are 2 problems with what you are asking:
- business: obviously we cannot give away Steam software. We're not Steam
- technical: your account is a regular DoW Online account. If you buy the game on Steam, you will use it with your Steam login, which will create a new DoW account automatically. So you will restart under a new identity, with a fresh game history and rank. Some people won't care because they have not played much anyway. But some others will want to stick to their highly valued rank, so they won't go to Steam because of this.
Hope this clarifies things out.
Account issues are always tricky.

Yann, since other folks might ask about the DoW account and Steam account, can we get the above in as a sticky (or post that info in the steam news release folder up top)??
Thanks!

And what about the new graphics on Steam that are different from the dow version ?? Dow version is for PC, Steam version is for PC too but they don't have the same graphics.
Can you explain why Dow version is not the same as Steam version ?

It's called double- (and triple-) dipping folks, and DOW seems to be taking this marketing strategy to heart. I think I'm going to pass on this new version, and the iPad version etc etc.
However, I do have one question: why has the original PC version download been removed from the download section of my account? I just bought this program a few months ago and if you're already going discontinue it, I'm going to be mighty annoyed.
If this is the case, will users still be able to purchase the expansions for the PC game in the future?
While I applaud your move to Steam, sticking it to your old supporters is a lousy way to do it.

I also have a question about the "cross platform" claim of the steam version.
My girlfriend bought TTR for her iphone. I would like to be able to play with her when I am at lunch/break. Can I play an online game with the steam version of TTR while she plays on her iphone?
