Memoir '44 FAQ Survey - Help Needed	Wed, 08 August 2012 15:59

Thank you to everyone who took the simple Poll I put on BGG! 160 people answered the three-question poll, but I discovered that it did not give me very much information and Stevens pointed out that only members of BGG could answer it! This survey open to anyone, and I hope to get even more responses. This survey is 10 questions long and will provide me with a great sense of how people use the FAQ. It will also give all of you a voice for what you think future updates should be like or other information you think I should know about the Official FAQ. Click here to take the survey. Forty five (45) people have already taken the survey and I've received some great suggestions for improving the FAQ in future updates! I don't know that I can do all of the suggestions, but a few of my favorite ideas so far are: 1) Embedded links everywhere. Any time one card or situation relates to another, link it. 2) Hyperlinks within the document, along with an index, would make finding answers easier. It's interesting that both of these ideas are only possible for a digital copy of the FAQ, but I agree that both suggestions would make for a more useful document. I'll have to see what I can do in future updates to move toward this kind of interaction with reference files like the Official FAQ! We've reached seventy (70) answers to the survey, and there are some interesting trends emerging from the data. Here are a few highlights: 1) 62.9% of people look to the FAQ when they have a question they aren't sure about. The second highest is 21.4% who look to the BGG forums for answers. 2) The vast majority of people (50.7% for the Original and 55.2% for the Supplement) don't print off the FAQ documents, but if people print them it's in Full Color. 3) Most people either keep the FAQ with their Memoir '44 stuff or on their computer, with 25% of people keeping it on their mobil devices as well. 4) In a scale of 1-4 with 4 being good, over 80% of people think that the Memoir '44 FAQ is a 3 or 4 compared to other FAQ documents. 5) I found this one surprising: 43.9% of people like the current Single Page format of the FAQ with 39.4% of people not caring what page format it has. I expected that more than 16.7% of people would want future updates to have the Facing Page format like magazines or books. I guess people don't really want this to look like a book. 6) 44.6% of people don't think anything needs to be added to the FAQ but 28.6% of people would like to see more personal questions and answers. 23.3% of people would like more pictures in future updates. Almost 100 people have taken the survey! We're sitting at 93, right now, and I've got some good suggestions and good information.
