RED (foudecoasters - cerdon)
UKB (Will)

1. Lineups : 10A / 4B

A. The captain sends the TD a PM WEEKLY with the 4-player lineup no later than Wednesday, 11:00 PM (GMT)

2. Seeding : 14E

E. Team's rank is decided by the sum of ratings of best 4 players as of DATE TO BE DECIDED.

3. Schedule of play : 13G / 1H

G. Yes, add "Safe Exit" to the current rule.

4. Length of Clash : 11I / 3J

I. Keep the rule as it is. (Rule is good itself / "Safe exit" solves the problem).

5. Duration of a match during the Round Robin : 6K / 8M

K. Keep the rule as it is : Best of 5.

M. Each match consists of 6 games. Possible results are 6-0, 5-1, 4-2, 3-3. (Pegaso's proposal : equal number of starts + more possible results for a clash)

1. Lineups :

A. (because KISS = Keep It Simple Smart Wink )

2. Seeding :

E. (as above)

3. Schedule of play :

H. (no "safe exit" in the rules. We don't think that it's a good idea to try to write a complex and a bit twisted rule for exceptions, that should only be under TD's responsability (like previous years), but not written in the rules cause the risk of abuses should increase)

4. Length of Clash :

I. (as above, okay even without "safe exit")

5. Duration of a match during the Round Robin :

L. (best compromise, to be logical with "games tiebreaker", to avoid too long matches and keep public's interest, to not have too many 3-3 scores)

Of course, majority decides... and we always can change rules for NC'2013, after these first big improvements.

NB : btw, you can change 'foudecoasters' by 'Elric' for Red TGV Board Rep... thanks Cool

If the majority wants "Safe Exit" it should be for ALL teams.

Ok vote is closed : Here are the changed chosen by the Board

1. Lineups

Current rule :
13.3 The captain sends the TD a PM WEEKLY with the five-player lineup no later than Wednesday, 11:00 PM (GMT)

becomes

A. The captain sends the TD a PM WEEKLY with the 4-player lineup no later than Wednesday, 11:00 PM (GMT)

2. Seeding

Current rule :
13.2 Team's rank is decided by the sum of ratings of best 6 players as of DATE TO BE DECIDED.

becomes

E. Team's rank is decided by the sum of ratings of best 4 players as of DATE TO BE DECIDED.

In order to give some flexibility to 4-player team and help them send a lineup for every clash, should we modify the part in bold and add the following :

14.2 Safe exit
"Once the schedule of Round Robin is released :
If one 4 player-team knows in advance that one of their players is not able to play in the time of a certain clash, they can ask to have that particular match played before the due time. It is the responsibility of the captain of that team to contact his/her peer to find an arrangement.
Each team, when ready, will send a lineup made of 1 name for that match. The remaining lineup will be sent to the TD at the time scheduled including the score of the match already played."

G. Yes, add "Safe Exit" to the current rule.

If nobody opposes, I'll open Safe exit to any team. We dont add more rules about Safe Exit, it's up to the TD to allow a team to use the rules and appreciate any abuse.

4. Length of Clash
Current rule :
Example: the second round, of which the draw will be posted not later than Friday, 19th of September, must be finished latest on Sunday the 28th of September. .

Stays the same.

5. Duration of a match
Current rule :
A. Number of games per match during round robin
Best-of-five, i.e. match is over when a player has won 3 games. A tied game doesn't count for the match. Possible results are 3-0, 3-1, and 3-2.

becomes

M. Each match consists of 6 games. Possible results are 6-0, 5-1, 4-2, 3-3.

If nobody opposes, I'd add : "In case of a tied game, each player will receive 0.5 point. Possible results are 6-0; 5,5-0,5; 5-1, 4,5-1,5; 4-2; 3,5-2,5; 3-3".

Consequently, the starter rule will change to :

13.8. starter rule
Odd games are random starting, even games are started by the player that did not start the previous game. If a game is a tie, although it doesn't count for the match in terms of games won, it counts as a game played.

Back to :

13.8. starter rule
Odd games are random starting, even games are started by the player that did not start the previous game.

Unless, we really want alternate start...

+1 with Rui !

We need something EASY and CLEAR !

In Nations Cup, you have many players, many matches, and always possible trouble or controversies, and also newbies or players who are not so involved in all those things, than the 4 or 5 who always write here... you see ? Rolling Eyes

I really think that the simplest is the best, to have a success for this Nations Cup, and to attract more and more players !

Ok, I'll edit that rule as you 3 propose.

So we go for alternate starts.
