My scenario, Kammenetz Podolski cauldron, should also be on winter terain but since there are no unfrozen rivers with snowy borders I had to use the summer board.
A snowcovered landscape with green grass shored rivers looks rather silly, doesn't it.
I'm going to try this scenario soon.

Hi Wim,
Another fine scenario that I liked to play.
I have one question which might have to do with my understanding of the rules. When playing Johnny, I played Axis. One of my single troops was hiding on a hill behind the two impassable hills, however I did got shot by a german unit that was positioned on a hill at the other side of the two impassable hills.
I do not understand the rule very well.
Are impassable hills only impassable for troop movement but not for bullits?

I guess it's like shoting across an impassable river: a unit can't cross it but can shoot the enemy on the other shore when it is in reach. Both attacker and defender are on the same hight, so they have visual contact, but the terrain in between is impassable. But bullets don't care.

Helcat,
To me, at first sight, this is a bug. Mountains are higher than hills, and should block line of sight between hills.
However, with the editor, when you want to make mountains impassible, the option you select is "impassible hill" and not "impassible mountain". That might explain where the bug comes from. You make it into a continuous line of hills, of which only some are impassible, but all are on the same hight.
I think I can fix this by making the mountains impassible and also blocking fire (normally made for artillery). I'll try it later. Thank you for the feedback.

On the terrain card it says: " you can only move DOWN form mountains to adjecent hills ... "
If you take this as it stands, that implements mountains to be HIGHER then hills, in which case you shurely have bin hit by a bug Hellcat !

Making the mountains into impassible blocking hills does not help either.
Will have to find another creative solution.

So does this mean that while it is badly balanced, people are still having fun? Good to know.

Yes! Definitely fun and usually and like most others, like a challenge and like to win as underdogs and this is a challenge! Played 4 straight times against Johnny, didn't win, have yet to try against a human! The stubborn in me coming out in trying to win!
