What card sleeves would work best for Memoir 44? I have seen some commentary on other forums and at best the mentioned examples leave exposed card or are too big. I am informed there are just two sizes. Has anyone an update on the best fit so far?

If you put your cards in sleeves, make sure they don't interfere with good shuffling of the deck.
I once played a battle against a friend. He got several great cards, culminating in TFH. The cards stuck together when he shuffled them, and afterward, he got all the same cards again. It was murder. I vowed, "Never again."

I use same sleeves in standard version, Premium are too thick and consequently the deck too.
However, sometimes I just have a little problem with them, the sleeve is too small for the card.

I haven't bothered with card sleeves because replacement card decks are so inexpensive at the DoW store.

The same here.
I am considering it for the breakthrough and overlord decks however, since they are not sold separately. I wish they would be.

I had card sleeves for a little while but they were too much trouble for me in the end. I figure that as long as the cards are all wearing out at the same rate then it's all right.
I agree that it's nice to be able to buy a new deck if I need to, and I hope that some day we'll have Breakthrough, Overlord, and Combat Cards available on their own.

I have decided to use card sleeves for the 1st time in my R. Borg games. Sleeves seem to be the standard now for all the deck building games that I am not interested in playing. So I thought this could be useful. I've played tounrnement level backgammon for a while and dice cups are a standard, as well as precision dice, so I wanted to see if the sleeves would give longer life to my decks. I definately use a dice tower for rolls.

ALL my cards are sleeved !
For shuffeling, they slide a bit, so that is even easier, except for the Overlord decks, but i gess it s realy the big size off the stack that makes it hard.
I used the following sleeves:

I used FF So4: Fits Cards of This Size: 2 5/16" x 3 9/16" (59x92 MM)

I use one color sleeves for command deck, and another color for winter deck (and now urban deck). (I don't have the package handy, but my cards fit OK.) Sleeved cards don't fit in the box slot, so I keep a stack of reference cards there instead.
I started using sleeves to be able to shuffle in the Air Sortie cards with different backs, (but haven't played Air Rules lately). The new Behind Enemy Lines has a different back, so once I got that, no problem replacing the old one.
Then I found it's good making an Overlord deck from one regular command deck and 60 of the Breakthrough cards. Since the fronts are different, it's easy to separate afterwards. Special rules for Overlord can be written on slips of paper and put in the sleeves. I put X's in the sleeves of 20 BT cards that aren't used for the Overlord double-deck.
If a scenario says to play Air Power as Artillery Bombard (or other card), it's fairly easy to add one from BT as described above.
The smooth sleeves I have do get sticky for shuffling, as Sam says. I found putting them in the box or bag loose is better than having them in rubber bands which make them tighter. Would the rough/textured sleeves I saw actually make them slide better?

I have some rough textured sleeves that are very slippery and shuffle fine. I forgot what the name for those sleeves are but mine are Max Protection.
The standard deck in sleeves I use most often are just plain plastic sleeves. I don't have the sticky problem you describe when shuffling. If its not due to some sticky substance on the sleeves then maybe you are not shuffling correctly or you need higher quality sleeves. The only time I ever had problems with sticky sleeves is due to my kids sticky hands after/during eating.
You shouldn't use a fan/riffle shuffle. A simple weave shuffle using the long ends of the cards is easiest for sleeved cards.

Hello,
I do use sleeves as well. I started with regular sleeves but they were prone to break, so I shifted to the premium type.
As others said, they are thicker, but they rarely get stick with each other.
I know a set of cards is only 5¤, but adding 14¤ for the shipping that makes almost 20¤. A bit of expensive for a single card deck in my opinion.
So I better protect them. Long live to my cards deck!
Cheers.

Yeah I use the Standard sleeves but was thinking about upgrading to the Premium sleeves..
Here is a coupon code for 15% off your entire order from Mayday Games "LIVINGDICE" it was working just a little while ago not sure if it still works.

Where are the replacement card decks at? I looked but did not find them at the DoW store.

Under the Memoir'44 System - "Command Cards" is listed as the second to last item, just before the "Memoir 44 Editor".

Thx for all the help. I ordered sleeves from FFG for Memoir 44, Battle Lore and CC Napoleonic s. My Vanguard/Vs. playing sons gave me tips on using and shuffling. Sleeves are a good idea.
