The FUSION CUP . What is it?
Fusion Cup is a new Tournament sure to bring a fusion of all maps, a fusion of skills, and fusion of teams for a tournament of sizzling games and matches.
It is a Team competition with teams formed to compete over 4 distinct matches using different gaming sets. The Competition to win the Fusion Cup will occur through a qualifying Round Robin set of clashes with other teams. Then the highest finishers will compete in Knock-out/Play-off rounds to determine who wins the Fusion Cup.
Each Clash (set of games) in both the Round Robin time and the Knock-out/Play-offs will include these 4 types of matches:
1) A 2 player match of 6 games on the USA map
2) A 2 player match of 6 games: USA, USA, Europe, Europe, USA, Europe
3) A 2 player match of 6 games on all the TTR maps, using 6 of the 7 different maps,
4) A 4 player TAG match of 3 games using the TAG rules
Teams may consist of a minimum of 4 players. In the spirit of the diversity and fusion meant for this Tournament, we offer the following guideline (not a rule) "Our desire to have diverse teams, hoping for people playing together who did not play on the same Nations Cup team in 2012."
Teams will be developed and registered in one of two ways:
a. Any team may sign up as a whole team (or as an incomplete team looking for additional team members)
OR
b. A person may sign-up as an individual in a FORUM thread with a Draft to occur for individuals onto a team. More information on this draft will come when the rules are published.

Well i'm sure i'll have an entry. Not too sure how happy players will be (like me and kasi) playing ranked tag matches on other maps or indeed playing them full stop... I think i'll be putting brad in all the tag matches to force people to play at 4am

P.S. if CL has stopped, do we get to keep the trophy?? 
For 3) can we have it forced that the 6 are all the maps except mega - which in my opinion has no place in serious tournament play. I'm one of a handful of players who knows 1910 & big tickets and even I hate it as there is so soooo much luck involved...

I didnt mean it like that. I meant I had gone to the effort of finding a player none of us (USA) would have usually played with, introducing a new CL player. Me and kasi both voted for brad after a long pm debate... May have been lots of time wasted

You forget that playing american time is better for this european who works silly hours!
Hmmm I wonder if Carsten even knows what an asia or swiss map looks like... he could be our bottom seed

Here is a start to the planned implementation of this Cup:
registration opens on Thursday. (on another thread)
End of first phase Sunday 27th.
List of teams and individuals remaining published on Monday 28th,
First round of draft : Tuesday 29th,
Second Round of draft : Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st
TD fixing the last teams : Friday 1st.
Saturday 2nd : Final list of teams participating.
Captains send their perceived ranking on Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th.
Grouping published by TD or Organizing Committee Monday 4th.
Lineups for first round in by Wednesday 6th.
