How to create friends only online game?

I was experimenting with the online mutiplayer in the iPad version of Ticket to Ride, and my initial impression was that you can only create games where you play with random strangers. Am I missing something, or is there no way to specify that you want to play with specific people from Game Center?

create a Private Game.
put a password in.
get your friends to join the private game
