Hello everyone, I'm not usre if this has been answered before but if ithas I am sorry. I recently bought the game and we always run out of victory coins. Even in 2 player games we run short. There has yet to be a game where we have had enough coins to last us. We are constantly totalling our coins and putting them back into a bag to be drawn again. This is very annoying. I cant find anyplace to just buy more voctory coins. Anyone have a solution besides making my own? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Bigwhitt,
Welcome to the forums and congratulations of getting such a great game!! Before I forget, did you know there is a digital version of this? It's already on the iPad and they're coming out with a huge update sometime this summer. They are also working to port it over to Android and Steam PC versions using a kickstarter that's going on right now. You can find it here, if you're interested:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/daysofwonder/small-world -2-the-return
Now, about your question. I have played Small World for years and I have never run out of Victory Coins, so I'm not sure how that's possible. We often have to trade in five 1's for a 5 but we've never run out.
What are your typical scores for a 2-player game? You should have plenty of money, so it surprises me that you don't have enough coins. I hope I can help, but we'll need more information, I'm afraid.

generally the average score of the winner is 400 points. I might be missing something in the rules. If so I would like to know.

I think perhaps instead of awarding 10 victory points to a player for a round we are awarding 10 victory coins.....

| bigwhitt wrote on Tue, 19 March 2013 10:42 | For example. player one scores 10 coins his first turn. The coins could have a 1,3,5 or 10 on them. If they get 5 coins that are worth 5 and 5 that are worth 10 then that's already a score of 75 for the first turn for just 1 player. we put all the coins in a bag and if the player gets 10 points they randomly draw 10 coins from the bag.

Well, that's an interesting House Rule, but that's not how the game works!!
If Player 1 scores 10 points in his first turn, he gets 10 points on the coins...so he might get a 10, or two 5's, or two 3's and four 1's. He is never allowed to just draw 10 random coins. Instead, he gets the total value of coins based on the land he controls.
If you let the players draw randomly, then it becomes a luck-based game because I could pull five 10's on my turn for 50 points, while my friend gets ten 1's on his turn for 10 points...so I would be winning even though my friend controlled more of the board (which is the point of the game).
I hope that helps clear things up!
