  Problems in Rating/ELO Score? Sat, 18 May 2013 18:42
Hi

Could someone debug my ELO Rating/Score?
My Overall Ranking - 38 games played, 1148 Score, 9673 Rank
2 Player Ranking - 2 games played, 1199 Score, 2683 Rank
Multiplayers Ranking - 35 games played, 1345 Score, 4518 Rank
How can my Overall Ranking be less then my 2 player score. Shouldn't it be between my 2 Player ranking and Multiplayers Ranking?

Cheers

your 2 player rank is provisional, therefore has different calculations applied to it until you've played more 2 player games to 'establish' it.

Presumably, there are other factors we're not seeing (for instance, you're missing one game).

However, what I would think is there are multiple ELO reasons you're sitting in that spot, I just don't know the system well enough.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, very few people care when you're playing TTR. Chess, sure, but TTR? Not really.

Thanks for the ELO link but I've already read it and really don't understand it.

And yes it does matter as when game creators ask for games they sometimes specifiy 1400+ etc and kick you out if you don't match.

I've played some more 2 player games so it's not provisional anymore but it still comes up with a low 1100. Check it out.

All the rankings are compared to the corresponding ranking of your opponent with the ELO rule in each game.

The overall ranking existed a couple of years before the other rankings. So the overall ranking keeps in consideration more games than the others.

For all the players the overall ranking is on average lower then the specific ranking.
