You won't be able to obtain unpainted planes with the airpack as they are already painted, but I suppose you might be able to repaint them to your own preference.

I believe Yrrab is asking for a reprint of the Air Pack with cheaper components. Unfortunately DoW has said that they can't produce the Air Pack for anywhere near the same price and they are not planning on a reprint of any kind. That's why they offer the PDF download. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Confused

In my opinion, you are not missing much. But if you want to play with air rules, you probably really only need some plastic figures and a set of command cards from the online store. The rules and terrain cards etc. are available online. You can play any scenario you have access to (e.g, camp. books, expansions etc) with air rules.

If you feel you really need the air pack scenarios then I guess the PDF is your only option, but its probably not worth it.

Hello,

we have built our own set of planes using cardboard and a neat design we found out somewhere.

Regarding the Summary Card deck, I truly believe is coming for the 10th Anniversary... I have a premonition Smile Very Happy (and I might be totally wrong too Laughing )

If I wanted Air Pack and didn't have it. I'd need:

1. Plane figures or substitutes for Air Rules,

2. Air Sortie equivalent cards for Air Rules.

2a. I have my Command Cards in protective sleeves. For the scenarios that replace Air Power with Artillery Bombard, it's no problem to shuffle in a BT card, for instance, even though the backs are different. So you could put a couple reference cards in sleeves with a paper saying "Air Sortie" as I did when I needed more than 2.

2b. There may be decks you can buy that come with Air Sorties. Extra Command Deck? Deck in Overlord Pack?

...
3. Most of the scenarios in Air Pack are available in non-classified form. I've made a list here. There are a few differences but you can compare rules in both versions.

4. The Reference Cards are very helpful. I use them in almost every game that involves troops or terrain beyond the basic game. You can go to Card Compendium to see, and maybe copy and print out the ones you need (there's a score for Air Rules), which I did before I got the Equipment Pack.

5. Winter Hills (also available in Winter Wars), Trenches (also in Pacific Theater), and Airfields should also be found in other expansions, as well as the rectangular pieces. I think there's only a couple Landing Craft tokens in Pacific, but there's now plastic figures in Equipment Pack.

6. Did I leave anything out? Oh. Maybe some substitutes like coins for Ready-for-Takeoff and crater-markers.

Command card decks are available in the online store for $5

The card compendium is available as a PDF from boardgamegeek.com (BGG), which makes it easier to print the cards:

http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/88938/card-compendium

There might be other stuff in the Files section for Memoir '44 on BGG.

There is an airpack scenario list on board game geek. Check out other stuff in Files section (not sure if useful but worth looking):

http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgameexpansion/31638/memoir-44- air-pack

There's been a lot of mention of plane miniatures available, maybe not too specific. Wings of Glory WWII airplane packs or the starter set look like a great fit with stands included:

Why not just order a set of 1:144 planes and use them? You could also try a different set of air rules! I have a six page set of air rules that allow for true ground interdiction, where anti-air artillery on the ground can shoot at strafing aircraft.
You can download them here: http://cdn.daysofwonder.com/uploads/userpages/272628/_6025.p df

In my opinion, Days of wonder could use a kickstarter platform for a new reprint of Air Pack for the 10th anniversary.
The price could be higher.

I don't understand why they did not release 8 miniatures of airplanes unpainted in the Equipment Pack expansion.

It's frustrating for new players not being able to acquire this expansion and others out of stock.

The axis and allies minis work too.
Note that I've listed a set of 8 ww2 minis from wings of war/glory that I think covers what you need for air pack minis. Check out username 'ldsdbomber44' on eBay

I'm thinking about selling my air pack anyway. I bought the PDF before, the card rules are all online, most of the scenarios too, you can get better plane minis or just use counters and there's only a few terrain tiles in there. It's honestly not that great of an expansion, just rare so pricey and I think that makes people assign higher expectations to it.

Yeah, not putting plane minis in there is mind boggling. And I think they could have used the standard country colours instead of that white, but as I'm now painting mine, don't mind that as much as before Smile

As they successfully used Kickstarter to fund their new Small World 2 (iOS game), I would be keen to support such a project for the Air Pack.

The Air Pack was never the most popular expansion when it was in print (and is only 'popular' now because it's hard to find) so I don't think DoW is likely to put a lot of time into making a new version. Especially when they are offering the rule book as a PDF download.

Sorry. Confused

Jesse,

A good adition to the Electronic version of the Air Pack would be a punchboard with the same airplanes, just like a build your own set!

Yeah...all good ideas, but seriously doubt its gonna happen. Accept it and move on.

Just buy airplane miniatures from elsewhere and you are set, even better than set, as they certainly would be better than cut-outs.
