According to official rules when anyone will know who's the first player is? The dice is rolled before or after tickets picking?

PLUS I wonder how it is possible to know who's the first player on the digital version prior to peek tickets.

Thanks bro!

In the board game, the rules say that the starting player is the person who was on a train most recently. You don't roll a die to figure out the starting player...which is why the game doesn't come with a die. Smile

C'mon Smile rams I know the rules but in a tournament? The app itself use a randomness system other than dice roll Smile

Draw destination tickets. The one finding the smallest route start and then the others go clockwise.

(just one solution Wink )

Qorlas voglio solo sapere se l'app online fa capire in qualche modo chi inizia prima di scegliere i biglietti oppure solo dopo che gli hai scelti Smile

Hmmm..I thought the question was *when* not *who*....regardless of how *who* is determined, what is the answer to *when*!

P.S. Speaking from memory since I am not at home, I thought our version of TTR said the starting player was the one who had travelled farthest away....am I imagining thatÉ

In our part of the country ``the last one to have been on a train`` wouldn`t solve the starter question for very many games!

If I'm not mistaken, in tournament play they just assign who's first and go from there, but as has been said, the rules state the person who's been on a train most recently goes first.

There are no dice to roll, the algorithm would be a random generation between 1 and the number of players in the game, then that player would go first.
As for when it's determined, I'd say it'd be easier for the programmers to determine that pre-ticket selection, but there isn't a way I'm aware of as to see who that is until game start.

Why would they need to tweak the program? It gives a random start player...what is it you're wanting?

I think it's fair to know before picking tickets Smile

While I don't think it would be bad to know who starts before choosing, why does it need to be in the game? You don't know what each other have, so you don't need to know who goes first, as, for all you know, that Seattle route you need might not be even close to the New York routes your opponents need...
Most of the time in my games, we choose before deciding who goes first... usually by some random selection too.

That said, I'd support the option, but I don't think it needs to be a part of the game, especially if such an omission was deliberate.

You can see who starts the (online)game before you pick your tickets.

After it shows you the tickets from which you must make your selection, look at the text line right above the tickets and wait a few seconds. It'll tell you who will go first.

As far as I can tell, if you miss it, it's gone for good, so focus on watching that text.
