Keep Losing Leaderboard Scores Wed, 05 March 2014 02:10
Hi All,

Loving playing SW2 on my ipad! I'm just getting used to the game and am mostly playing against bots, practicing with different races and trying to better my scores.

Whilst it's not the biggest deal at the moment, I randomly lose my leaderboard data and my account is also randomly(seemingly....) logging out. I am thinking the two issues are linked but would like to know the hard and fast rules for keeping my scores from disappearing.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Jim

I usually don't check my Solo leaderboard, because I prefer playing online, but having read this post I decided to see for myself. It so happened that my 2 and a half year old son (a huge fan of Small World already) was playing against bots yesterday on the 5 player map and I was helping him. We finished two games and both times were victorious! But what do I see today?

Maybe I don't understand something...Maybe somebody can explain...

Edit: Having posted the above message, I remembered that I usually turn off the internet connection to prevent my son from accepting online invitations accidentally, so perhaps that is the reason..

Indeed, you need to be connected to the Internet, otherwise your score won't be pushed to our servers at the end of the game. There is no store-and-forward system in the game.

Yes your are correct, you need to be connected to the Internet AND be logged in with your DOW account.

So the question becomes why you are losing your authentication. Once you logged in successfully once, the game will keep your credentials to log in.

In your case, I can see that you are using Game Center. So I wonder if you are losing the authentication because Game Center is losing it.

- Go to the Game Center app and log out.
- Start Small World. If you are asked to log in on Game Center, answer no.
- From the Settings screen, log in with your DOW Login Name and Password.

This will ensure that the game knows your DOW credentials. After that, it's OK to reactivate Game Center if you want to. At least, the game will know how to log in directly if Game Center does not answer.

I hope this helps,

Yann

Thank you AM and Yann for your responses, I appreciate the help. I have done as detailed and will see if that sorts my issue.
