Does the ¤29 entry fee include a set of activation coins? It says in 2.4 that a set is provided at the start of the tournament, but the registration form doesn't mention if the registration fee includes this set or if it should be returned?

This year they will not be offered for free. They will be available to play with on the tables. This won't mean we don't have anything in mind... we love surprises Laughing Laughing
Sets will be available to buy.

Dear friends,

The vademecum with all the necessary information and rules that will be used during the Belgian Open (4th and 5th of October 2014) will be available around July 10 (our graphic designer needs desperately some holidays ...).

On the other hand, we can already tell you that there will be a significant change in the calculation of the ranking.

Until now, we gave priority to the points (the most important thing is to win) then the number of medals and finally, to make a difference, the number of remaining figurines.
Besides the fact that it was a lot of calculations, we find such a calculation a little to light to make the difference between equal players.

We have been offered several solutions from various players to come to a more accurate ranking. We decided, on this basis, that the following changes will apply:

After the primary scoring system (win, draw or lose - which does not change), ranking is made based on the difference in medals
Ie a player who has won 6-2 and lost 5-6 shows a result of 3 (+4 and -1). And his opponent a difference of -3 (+1 and -4).
It is therefore necessary to win (points still takes priority), but to gain the largest difference in medals as possible.
The amount won or lost figurines therefore has no further interest!

In case of a tie in points and difference of medals, after the 6th round, we will look at the results between the opponents.
The winner will be the one who has the best result against the best opponents.

This kind of calculation is used today in many tournaments (Chess, Magic, ...), but we were not able to apply this earlier for the simple reason that the computation and encryption between rounds took way too much time.

Chris Harlem worked for many days (nights) for the development and testing of a program that is very user friendly and allows this automatic encryption.
In short, in less time, we will have a sharper ranking. It is therefore important not only to win but also to try to win with the biggest difference ...

Isn't life great?
Very Happy
