[Beta] Easier procedure for Steam users to try the Beta Thu, 15 May 2014 17:40
Dear players,

We made things a bit easer for Steam users to download the Beta: we removed the activation password. Cool

Note that downloading the Beta still assumes that you agree with the conditions described in http://www.daysofwonder.com/en/msg/?th=29279&start=0

Thanks for your attention!

Before the update of Small World 2 today via Steam for Linux I was able to launch the app beta. After the update I cannot.

"Failed to start game (missing executable)."

Same issue it had prior to opting into the beta.

(Edit: bug submitted with screenshot, sorry for the dual reporting)

And you are sure you are on the "beta" channel?

I have the same problem now.
I used to be able to launch the beta, but now not anymore ...

We identified something weird on Linux with the Steam "depot". We are investigating...

OK, we found the problem! For some strange reason, Steam behaves in a different manner with public betas called "beta". It's probably a special keyword. So we renamed it into "beta_version" and everything works like a charm.

Please give it a try and let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Yann

Yes, it works now. Thank you.

I'm assuming the following URL is the proper place to report bugs and that we should avoid the forum for this purpose?

Yes, use that form to report bugs but you can post and discuss the bugs if you want. It's just that the forums aren't an efficient place to report the bugs.

Have fun! Cool
