Can't create private games Fri, 03 June 2011 22:36
How does one create a private game from the iPad version of TtR? How does one create a game with a specified number of players? I can't seem to get either of these features to appear, and my son, who also bought the game for his iPad around the same time as me, couldn't either.

Hi Bozuman1,

The explicit creation of private game that you find on PC/Mac version has been replaced by an invitation system which prevents you from passing around the password.

All is done for your by the app.

To invite someone to play to a private game, please:
1. Go to the Restaurant inside the station
2. Find the first person you want to invite in the lobby (you can use the search bar to find people by name).
3. Click on this person then on invite button. This action will indeed create a private game. The invited people will receive a notification that he will be able to accept.
4. You can keep on inviting other people in the table room by using the address book located on the left side of screen.

I've tried to create a private online game on my iPad, but the other players are being asked for a password to join. I was never asked to input a password, nor did I see an area to input one, so what is this password? Is there a default password that is enabled for a private game? The online play really needs a re-think.

Hi player745004,

If the other players are using PC or Mac they should have received a private chat message indicating the name of the created game and the password.

Tell them to check the chat zone in the lobby and find out the relevant message.

I'll ask them to check next time.

Can't there just be a password option during the creation of a private game, similar to the web and stand-alone versions? Seems like it would be more straight-forward.

This seems like the right place to say this... I create the private game, click start then the dialog that says "Click Go To start the game" comes up. But the button doesn't turn green. I'm using Steam and trying to get a friend to join. He can see the game, but his Join button also doesn't turn green. In public game I don't have this problem.
