I'll have forgotten all about D-Day by the time it arrives. Will have to wait until next year to play.

actually the most i think i could possibly fit in is 3 maps...i was playing a standard Overlord the other day and i realised just how big this expansion is! Still, I personally love the idea, even if i never get to play the full 6 maps Sad

If you pre-ordered it (which is sounds like you did) you should get an e-mail telling you that it shipped and giving you tracking information. Then you'll know when it's coming and can avoid future confusion and tears that other packages might cause.

Hi Rasmussen: Yeah, I got an email but the email itself did not list the product if I am remembering it correctly. I did not think to check which order had shipped...remember in that other thread that I got a copy of Relic Runners...anyway...it could have been avoided if I would have followed the link to see which package had shipped then warned Josh ahead of time. He is autistic so sometimes emotions are tough for him to handle. :}

Thanks again gents! I'll tell Josh end of June. Smile

Ah, that makes sense.

I had a chance to set up the Omaha and Utah beaches last night and play with three friends. The Allies lost by 4 medals, but let me tell you...it was a wonderful experience and will be worth the wait!! Very Happy

Enjoy Relic Runners in the meantime and have fun!

My gaming table is only large enough for about three maps, but I am so looking forward to getting this. Haven't ordered yet, waiting until after family reunion (last weekend) and getting another paycheck (next Friday).

Yes, go to the page titled "MY ACCOUNT".
On the bottom right there will be Blue hypertext which will take you to Check my order history and status: You will find ALL of your prior orders listed here.

I plan on getting this and though I have 2 of the game and all expansions except the air, I plan on playing the six map scenario. I am hoping by placing one miniature and using a tiny die, to notate the number of miniatures, I will be able to place all units. We shall see if that works. I have to admit I am chomping at the bit to get this on the table Razz

Wow...my equipment is exactly the same as yours and id never thought id have a hope of playing the six maps on my own Smile I'd worked out that with 2 base games and all expansions (except air) you could set it up fully (just not with some of the Equipment Pack figures) as follows:

I have 83 American Infantry (one fought the vacuum and lost Laughing )
84 German Infantry
42 British Infantry
42 Russian Infantry
48 Japanese Infantry

Altogether 299 infantry (if all my maths is correct Rolling Eyes )

Now with the two-beach scenarios,

Sword/Juno requires 82 German Infantry and 117 British. The British forces could use all 42 British figures, the 48 Japanese and 27 Russians.

Juno/Gold requires 82 German Infantry and 81 British, with the British made up of 42 Brits with 39 Japs.

Gold/Omaha requires 81 German Infantry, 49 American and 42 British, all covered with the right figures Cool

Omaha/Utah requires 88 German Infantry, with 84 Germans and 4 Russians, and 94 US, with my 83 base figures and 4 Brits.

Utah Airborne requires German 96 (84 base figures, 12 Russian), and US 89, made up of the 83 US with 6 Brits.

NOW...the 3-beach ones

Sword/Juno/Gold takes 122 German Infantry, and 158 British. This could be done with the 84 German figures with 38 Russians, and the 42 British with 48 Japs and 68 of the US...good old US Very Happy

Omaha/Utah/Airborne requires 137 Germans, and 138 US. This is even more streched, the Germans could use their 84 figures with all 42 Russians and 11 of the Japanese, while the US could use their 83 with 42 Brits and (mix over) 13 Japanese.

Of course this is all pretty simplistic...I've probably ignored all the reinforcements, and the maths is almost definitely wrong Embarassed But I reckon I'll be able to scrape through the three-map beaches... 6 would take some serious thinking Shocked .

Sorry for this lengthly statement... It's probably all on another thread somewhere and I'm just stating the obvious. BTW I loved Rasmussens review - the more I hear the less I feel I can wait. Hurry up D-Day!!!

Slim

I haven't checked your math, but it sounds logical when I read through it! The dice are a new idea (and would need a LOT of dice) but other people have suggested a few different ideas to make the battles possible: one figure with 3 poker chips, figures and Overlord tokens, buying figures from other companies like Airfix, using figures from other games like Risk, etc.

Basically, as long as you find something that works for you and designates the right number of units, go for it!

It's an extremely fun expansion and these battles are great. We've only had time to play the two maps but wow, what an experience and we can't wait to find time for some of the others. Richard Borg has really outdone himself with this one!

The biggest problem will be the different decks.
You can make 1 breakthrough deck with 2 standard deck or 1 overlord deck, so you have 3 decks total.

Enjoy!!!! And be sure to tell us what you think. In fact, I think I'll start a new thread where we can post our thoughts on the expansion and others can find it when they need to decide if they want to add this to their Memoir '44 collection.
