It seems that this Normandy campaign will last longer than the time from DDAY to Berlin...

The third match you have listed above was reported on August 22; it was a victory for the Axis. You can see it on the results thread.

Thanks for pointing that out. Cool

But I have to point out (it's the stickler in me, sorry) I still can't look into the future.
Looking at the times on the two posts I got VCX1302 beat by 15 hours and 15 minutes. Laughing
(The time I see that is, you and I read 6 hours different)

Hi commanders,

I know we are waiting for a couple more engagements in the Falaise Pocket but I wanted to post our next battle, Liberation of Paris. It is now up online on the SFTF page. I can't put 2 scenarios up at once online to play so you'll have to hang in there until the previous round is completed.

ATTENTION Jeroen and John! Could you look over the scenario and let me know where you want your reserve units placed. Also, Jeroen(I think it's your turn), could you post your lineups for this round. Thanks.

Hi Eric,

Jim and me have succeeded to catch each other and play at 9:45 pm CET tonight (in 1 hour Shocked ).

So, if you could keep Falaise Pocket available until there, it would be great ! Smile

Thanks,

Are we moving on to round 7, or is there still an outstanding game from Rnd 6 to finish off? Very Happy

Only bartjuh against JJ's Juggernaut left to play.

Because of the time difference I fear that won't be until next weekend.

I will try to look at the new scenario, but I have started work this week and am away all evenings for my sports club. So trying to squeeze it in in the morning somewhere.

This morning I did not succeed Wink .

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Go JJ's Juggernaut! Cool

Jeroen: just take the same line-up of the last round if you're tight on time. We came out on top during that round.

As for the reserve unit: an infantry in the town on our baseline would be nice. An engineer would be nicer.

The line-up is not the problem (I got that ready two weeks ago Wink ), I need to take a look at the scenario. I will do that at the latest tomorrow evening. Smile

All will be well, and after Jj's Juggernaut get's that last point we will be even Steven going into the next round! Woohoo! Cool

Re:Western Front Tournament Logistics Thu, 04 September 2014 07:03
Well, coming from you being up by tour points after last round that would still be an improvement, but as you say would not merit a woohoo. I think a slightly simpler: Gut gemacht leute! would suffice. Razz

Reserve unit for the Germans:
Hitler commanded that the French capital "must not fall into the enemy's hand except lying in complete debris". Therefore Hauptkommand has sent us an Engineer unit to blow up stuff. They are stationed in the vacant town hex on our Baseline.

Line-up:

Liberation of Paris Round 7
Buidheo v Jeronimon
Clorofila v Kellogs_10
gheintze v Vercingetorix1302
bartjuh v Quit2
Gonzalan v Antoi
Jaykay2010 v JJ's Juggernaut
Junior72 v JAParker
LooneyLlam v Artimon
Lucky91 v Droopy007
Tank commander v southoftheborder

German orders: General von Choltitz, you should eradicate french resistance in Paris and fortify the city against the Allied onslaught. The first Us Army is coming we can see them to the southwest, but beware they are also lurking in the woods and hills in the south east. Good luck gentlemen!

Don't you have 4 reserve units left? If you do you can use one in each of the final four scenarios.

Our next scenario, 'First Day at Arracourt' is on the SFTF page. If John and Jeroen could give me their reserve unit placement it would be appreciated. Also, John can set the lineups.

Is there any word on the substitute for our last battle? If we get everything done on Arracourt before it is played, we will move on and come back to it later.

If axis were to take a tank unit as reinforcement, would it be
- 3 figures, allowed to move 3
- 3 figures, allowed to move 2
- 4 figures, allowed to move 2?

Anyway, commander Jeronimon, I think this would be an excellent opportunity to use our remaining armour reinforcement. It looks like this will be a tank battle.

Unfortunately my planned substitutes either can't play or haven't reacted to PM. So we either skip this round and move on until I do find a substitute or I draw a name of the remaining Axis players and that person is lucky enought to play the scenario twice.

Here is the lineup for Rd 8.

I randomly assigned one of our players to play the "sub" player.

Buidheo v Antoi
Clorofila v JAParker
gheintze v JJ's Juggernaut
bartjuh v Droopy007
Gonzalan v Artimon
Jaykay2010 v Vercingetorix1302
Junior72 v Jeronimon
LooneyLlam v Quit2
Lucky91 v Sub
Tank commander v Kellogs_10

I will take a Combat Engineer infantry and place it in the center on the vacant hex to the right of the Elite infantry.

Jeroen, let's use you or someone else from your team to battle John. Maybe the game could be played this weekend.

Wim, I did realize that if Jeroen picks an armor unit that there were going to be three possibilities. My decision is that he will have the choice of a 3 figure armor unit that will only move 2 hexes. Just think of it as a battalion of fewer Panther tanks.

I could certainly play this Sat (a morning slot from 7am with a stop time of 9:30am ET) or perhaps I could game 5pm ET of after.

On Sunday, I can game anytime from 8AM ET on.

Hi all, for speed and convenience I chose one of my USA players to play "tank".

Since he has already battled JAParker the honor befalls JJs Juggernaut.
My orders to Josiah: defend Paris at all cost, it must not fall!

Our reserve unit will be the armor unit with the missing tanks Wink
Place it on hex E9, between the regular infantry and the special forces infantry and next to the engineers in the forest, maybe they can fix the broken tanks so we can still have four figures Smile )

Be advised: this weekend will be a bit quit on the looneyLlama Western Front as some players will be going to the Memoir 44 Belgium Open: Antoi, bartjuh, Goekawar, Junior72, Kellogs_10, Lucky91, Vercingetorix1302 and myself.
Good luck to everybody and if you happen to play me: Give me your best game!
