ttr online not working properly on Mac Sun, 19 February 2006 14:55
i've hosted 7 games now, using my mac and the firefox browser.
Only 3 of them were completed, the rest of them could not be completed because firefox crached. (1 of the games didn't even get started)

this is very annoying, especially for the one who is winning.
i don't want to start a mac-pc discussion here,
but if someone has any tips that can help,
please do...

thanks
jojo

The Mac version happens to be quite stable (at least on my Mac), so make sure your Internet Connection is stable.

Then make sure you have all the software update and that you are running the latest version of Firefox (ideally Safari would be better as it runs the latest Java Virtual Machine).
Then, please read how to submit a bug report, because I lost my latest brain reading appliance, from the page:
http://www.daysofwonder.com/?t=play&sub=technical
(the important thing is the 'Java Console').
Then send the most information you can to support@daysofwonder.com.

I was playing on firefox but on regular PC and it kept crashing. I had to leave 6 games because it didn't work properly causing some karma damage.

I've got no problems on my Mac (10.3.9).
But I'm using Safari 1.3.2 (v312.5).

It's more stable then the connections of my friends.

Reporting that you have a problem is not completely helpfull: my remote brain reading appliance is out of order right now, thus I can't know what is the root cause of your problems.

Please, try to conform to what I said earlier and submit us bug reports containing Java Console.

If I don't get evidence of the problem, how do you think I'll be able to fix the issue ?

I also have trouble on my Mac at work...

I'm sure explorer 5.1 (granted, a bit old) and system 9.2

Explorer crashed EVERY time three locos come up.

Not sure this is the same problem as others are having.

Actually, System 9.2 is not supported anymore.
The problem with the Apple MRJ on System 9 (and older) is that it contains some really problematic bugs (in particular the famous crash on synchronize( Object ) that couldn't be workarounded without rewriting some part of the application).
As there are less and less System 9 users out there that uses our software I finally dropped support for this OS.

In no way it is related to problems on Mac OSX.
