Hello Mr. Tournament Director,
I have a question on how to count a tie (as I just played one against sebbo).
Does it qualify as half a win or is it just a game which has to be repeated?
Cheers, wasdenn

sebbo 4 : 1 wasdenn, one tie
The first four games were yesterday, outside of my window a crushing jackhammer...perfect situation for playing .
First game was a tie, 111:111. (first move wasdenn, longest too)
Second game sebbo 116 : 109 wasdenn. (first move wasdenn, longest me)
Third game sebbo 117 : 110 wasdenn. (first move wasdenn, longest me)
Fourth game sebbo 28 : 123 wasdenn. (first move me, longest wasdenn, i had la-ny and dal-ny and he claimed the orange, pink and grey 6, so absolutely no chance for me. It was the highest loss in my history! Grats wasdenn to this )
Fifth game 97 : 70 (first move wasdenn, longest wasdenn) I had dal-ny, mon-atl, he had la-mi and se-la, blocked him with 6 red, 5 blue and 4 pink from miami.
Sixth game sebbo 119 : 116 wasdenn (first move....who else as him?! , longest me) i had ssm-okla, den-pitts, he had la-mi, bo-mi and mon-atl. I decided to let him go, claimed the yellow, white, grey and pink 6, and finished as fast as possible.
Was much fun Thanks for exciting games wasdenn!
cheers

tprail - ElSoyokaze 3:1
To be completed 10EDT, 9CDT (??? CET) on Wednesday.
So far, going first has managed to win each time.
Game 1:
tp: Dal-NY, Mtl-NO, [Ptl-Pho], first
ElS: Sea-LA, Win-LR, [SF-ATL]
Tie for longest, 116-108 tp
Game 2:
tp: Dul-ElP, SSM-OK, [SF-ATL]
ElS: LA-Mia, Cal-SLC, [Mtl-NO], first
tp missed a block (hel-slc)
ElSoy got longest and won 131-108
Game 3:
tp: Sea-NY, Mtl-NO, [SSM-OK], first
ElS: KC-Hou, Win-Hou, Win-LR
tp got 9 locos, ElSoy got ZERO
tp was longest and won 132-105
Game 4:
tp: Van-SFe, SSM-OK, [Tor-Mia], first
ElS: Win-Hou, Hel-LA, Den-Elp
Obvious, going first made a diff as tp was able to go out one turn early and prevent ElSoy from longest.
tp won 125-114

Just a wish ...
All participants: Could you include the current standing in your match title?
e.g. Silvertrain/dea 3:1
Yes it hurts when you have to type that (if you are trailing - I know that ) but it's a good service for everyone joining in who want's to know what's up.

hi all
Shamogi vs. Leleline_J 4:1
Thanks for organizing this tournement. It was real fun.
I was unlucky in the first 3 games, not the right colours in the second game and almost no locos in the first and third game.
In the last 2 games I made too many mistakes and Shamo played really well! Grats for you ! I wish you good luck in the next (and maybe in the next few ) round(s), it was fun and exciting to play against you !

I've never really noticed a problem with having colors before...until these games. First and third games I got the worst colors imaginable. A bunch of what I didn't need and few of what I did. And having so few locos (ZERO in game 3 and three in game 4) didn't help.
And then in game 5 I accidentally picked Portland-Nashville instead of Montreal-NO for my second ticket. There really wasn't any good combo of the three (another issue that plagued me, not having any good choices of tickets), but at least I had a good plan for what I wanted.
Sigh, rant over. tp still beat me fair and square, so hats off to him.

SKMorefield - maia03 : 3-4
Erps recorded some of the games, so i am not going to publish a detailed paper about it here .
The general opinion in the audience was that i won the last (deciding) one because SKM played something horribly wrong, the details in the recording, i think
But it was tought games for me, enjoyed then very much

Grats maia! I always enjoy playing you and you played very well today. You deserved the win.
It was nip and tuck the entire series, but the last game, yes I have no idea what I was thinking other than to say my brain was fried after 3 games with Kotay and then 7 with you! Is there something in the TTR handbook about building up endurance??
At any rate, I got that 'sinking feeling' right after I played the grey (toward the end)... anyone who watches the recording will see what I mean.
One other note of interest was that I lost 3 games with my favorite tic (La-Chi) and win 2 games with my worse tic (Sf-Atl). Go figure...

Well I'm down 2-0 to Masimo.
First Game - Masimo goes first with LA-Chic and NY-Atl. I have Por-Nash and SSM-Okla.
Game 2 - I go first with LA-Chic and KC-Hou. Masimo has Win-LR and SSM-Nash.
He got longest in both and I drew cards to no avail on both last turns.
Looks like I'm ready to make another quick exit from my own tourney.
Unless the compass starts pointing me north.

Make72 [2:4] Elric
Game 1:
Make: Den-Pitt, SSM-OK
Elric: LA-Chi, Por-Phe - first
Only 3 locos for me, but many many purple that saved me when I could connect South and North by Hel-SLC !
longest : Elric
122-96 Elric
Game 2:
Make: Mtl-Atl, NY-Atl
Elric: LA-Sea, Van-Sfe - first
Only 3 locos again for me, but East vs West... I could be faster to win !
longest : Elric
117-96 Elric
Game 3:
Make: Win-LR, Win-Hou, SSM-Nash - first
Elric: LA-Hel, Den-Pitt
7 locos helped me a lot, Make completed his 3 tix but the longest made me win... but closer !
longest : Elric
118-115 Elric
Game 4:
Make: LA-Mia, Por-Nash - first
Elric: SF-Atl, LA-Sea (+ Den-Pitt at the last turn missed)
We finished this game like zombis, because our moves killed eachother many times I let my chance go away without keeping the 6 reds (I wanted to keep my locos... big mistake !), Make won with the points of his tix and of the 6x !
longest : Elric
130-102 Make
Game 5:
Make: LA-NY, LA-Mia
Elric: Van-SFe, Win-Hou, Dul-Hou (+ SSS-OK at the last turn missed) - first
Playing Houston (and 2 tix !) with 1 green is very very hard ! No photo : Make got the longest, the 6x of the south, and the points of his big tix !
longest : Make
133-108 Make
Game 6:
Make: LA-NY, Van-SFe - first
Elric: SF-Atl, Tor-Mia
Because I took first the 6x black, Make gave up the longest and prefered playing the 6x (yellow) and 5x (white). I took the south road by Miami-Atl-Nash-Pitt-Tor (so he went by Tor-Mtl-NY) and I kept the longest, that made me win !
longest : Elric
123-115 Elric
Notice : about who starts... Make won 1 game with first, and 1 with second, and I won 2 games with first, and 2 game with second ! Not so decisive
Thanks for the idea and the organization, kid !
Thanks for the "logistic" tool, erps !
Happy to continue this great Tournament
Elric.
PS : I am at the rendez-vous, Opti... but it seems you don't want to help me to erase this "baaaad" memory ... maybe in the next Tournament

Hawaienne - Goscha 4:3
I enjoyed to play my first tournament against a very
good player.
Very close fight, except the last game.
Too crazy to take to-mi,wi-hou,den-pitt.
Needed 10 green, 10 red.
Got 3 green, 7 red, game over.
Grats and good luck against Kotay-in-Hell, Hawaienne.
I will watch it.

Gee thanks, erps, for preserving that one for posterity.
Mudda, I KNOW, that was clearly the mistake. I felt it as soon as I laid the white. It is so ingrained in me to try to get in the way and also shorten the game (more so than even getting longest, which might be a weakness), and for some reason I thought she would get or need that 6, so I took it and figured I'd shorten the game by 1 turn. I really don't go for longest probably as much as I should, and clearly I should have there.
However, even when I laid the white I wasn't sure I'd lose, so it was a shock to see the final score. I wasn't thinking about the low pt total for den-elp (for some reason).
Anyway, enough excuses. The key is after a bad loss to MOVE ON, learn from it, and put it out of your mind. So, after the cleansing effect of watching erps video and commentary (which was actually very good ), I'm done with it.
SKM

I have just concluded that T2R is a game of luck.
Started 5 (!) times, lots of Locos, nice Tickets. I could even permit myself to make a number of errors.
Tofra - Goan 1-4.
It was nice all the same.
