I lost 3:4 against maia03. Grats well done!
The 5th game (3:1) was the turning-point of the game! It was a tie possible during the game, but in the end i realized, that ssm-okla counts with 9 instead of 8, and because of that she would have had one point more than me. I drew ticks and found nothing, this costs me all my self-consciousness and the next two games i played like a brainless idiot. Nevertheless, it was great playing of you maia03, i wish you good luck for the next games!

Masimo is now up 3-1.
He won Game 3 going first with Por-Phoe and Win-Hou. I had Ssm-Okla and Sea-LA.
I won Game 4 going first with SF-Atl and Chic-NO. He had Cal-Slc and Tor-Mia.

I think it would be fair to add, that today I was the luckier one, i.e. I had approximately 7-8 locos in each game, and got bad tickets only once in all games, which didn't make it easier for sebbo (and honestly I think he was the better player today, even as a brainless idiot  ).
Anyways thanks for the games sebbo, it was a pleasure

Masimo won 4-2.
Game 5, I won, he went first with Sea-NY and Chic-Sfe. I had Por-Phoe and LA-Miami. Can't believe I won this one after he blocked the 6 red.
Game 6, Masimo won, I went first with Sea-LA and Van-Sfe. He had Dul-Elp, Mon-NO and Tor-Mia. I cannot believe I lost this game.

Hi
Very interesting the tournament so far. But we lost so many top players in the first 2 rounds, i wonder why? After the Quick Tournaments i thought that is normal for a single elimination tourney, because we can't deny there is an element of luck in this game ....
But now we have BEST of SEVEN, even more than in NC (and in NC we had a lot of losses for the tops too!) and still so many surprises.
Maybe it is no great surprise? I think the 1600-1700 players are getting stronger any minute and there are a lot of players who play only with 80% force in the daily games (they are not underrated, but i think the whole TOP 20 is OVERRATED). But in a tournament these players concentrate and play 100% and then the tops underestimates them maybe too....
Why is the TOP 20 overrated? Look at the points distribution, the normal maximum should be 1750 or so. But most of the times some tops have a winning streak and with playing only against each other the points of the top 20 stay high.
Really don't know the answer, opinions?

Look at how many upsets there are in the NCAA tournament (college basketball in USA). And yet, usually a top team ends up winning the thing. The same will probably be the case here. My pick is Kotay.

So, we played our games tonight, final result :
The Train [0:4] Elric
Game 1:
Train: KC-Hou (missed), Win-LR
Elric: Van-Mtl (missed), Sea-NY (!!) - first
A big "trash game" around New-York ! I finished by connect, but lost Montreal in the way... and kept the longest that made me win... so close ! Train was very very disappointed for this 1 point less, and said :

Game 2:
Train: Den-Pitts (missed), Sea-NY - first
Elric: LA-Mia, Den-ElP
He was on the North, I was on the South... but Train choosed to (also !) block me Miami : 6 red, 5 blue, etc... I finished by going thru Pittsburg... but maybe it was too much : so big and good tix + hard blocking

Game 3:
Train: KC-Hou (missed), Dul-Hou
Elric: Por-Phe, SSM-OK - first
I took first the strategic 6x that I needed, and that decided for the next... Train tried a 'ghost' block over NY, but that wasn't my destination

Classic "East vs West" ! Train couldn't do quite anything, I was faster than he was, and made him lose his second tix... No fright for me in this game

About who started ? Tie, 2 each one !
About the locos ? I never had more than 4 locos (4, 4, 3 and 4 !)... the result isn't so bad for me ... but I have to say that it was much compensated by not so bad colors, and good combos of tix !

Erps - Goan 1-1 (+ one draw). Audience complained about our tempo. Goan now Number-One in slow-player-ranking . Erps second. Anu out of top-10 (every game is rated in this ranking).
First game, took 25 minutes or so. I only remembered that I had SF-Atlanta and ChI-NO and that Erps refused to play the vital colors. A logical (...) draw. 0-0.
Second Game. 15 minutes. Erps played very well. I did not. 1-0.
Third Game. 10 Minutes. I had easy tickets. Erps did not. 1-1.
Sunday we hope to finish it.

it was great to be part of this tournament and got further than i had ever thought i might get. Gratulation to tprail - he blocked me nicely in our last game and i coudn t answer with to few locos.

First quarterfinal played ! We started yesterday evening and finished tonight... final result :

YEP, yesterday, SILVERTRAIN rolled over me and cut me into pieces before I noticed it was over.
First Game / Silver starts:
I: Seattle/NY and Chic/SF
Silver: Boston Miami and NY Atl
Silver blocks me in the NY area, I manage to get through, but miss Santa Fee. He finishes quickly, lets me even have the longest and winns 101-95 having BOSTON !!!!!
Second Game / I start:
I: LA Miami and LA Chic
Silver: Calg Ph and Dul Hou
I notice he will have the longest and need to take more tkts, once I get Calg SLC (good but not enough) and the next time no luck (Chi SF  )
Third Game / I start:
I: Calg Pho, SF Atl and 8-9 jokers!!
Silver: Dul ElP and Mont NewO
I just played badly and messed it up. He gets the longest and finishes toooo early 120:95 ...
Fourth Game / Silver starts:
I: Montr & Chic -- NewO
He: cannot remember and WinHou (which I manage to block)
He still wins 107 : 99 because he has the longest....
