Promo Hill Giant in the mail!

For everyone who pre-ordered, your promo figure should be arriving any day. I received mine today. Looks great. I like the idea of these figures having a game hex packed with them, along with descriptive game cards. Kudos, DoW!

I came home from work today and it was here! I was excited and then sad. I want to play! The figure looks great and the card and hex are of the typical high DOW quality!
I was not even expecting this until the game came, thank you!

I just pre-ordered at a local gaming convention, and got the Hill Giant immediately. But I was wondering about the cards that came with the figure. There are two identical Hill Giant cards, and one Rock Pile card.
Is this a mistake, or did everyone else get this also? Should there be a different third card? Seems strange to have two Hill Giand cards for one Hill Giant figure.

I received the same cards. I think that there are two so that both players can have one to refer to.

Yes, there are two identical cards so that you can either: give one to each of the two camps (and have people use their front and back for reference); or give two to the camp controlling the creature, with one of the card set on its front and the other on its back.
Also: We started mailing promo figures but not all have gone out yet. Please bear with us as we progressively get them out (we are shipping those out in chunks based on the date when the pre-orders were placed). Do not e-mail us to ask us where your miniature is or when it will arrive, as this would just slow everyone's shipment down (yours included).
thank you,
eric

Got mine also. I preordered on the first or second day it was avaliable. The figure is very cool. I really did not expect to get it till the game came. I guess I am just going to have to introduce him into the M44 scenario that I am playing tonight. I just cannot let him sit there!
Thanks again DoW. I am really am gaining a lot of respect for this company. Please don't sell out to Hasbro or some other company.

I note that all those who have received the promo figure are in the US. Are the European hill giants being sent out sometime soon?

In the french forum there's mentioned, that the Promo-figs will come with the game, but if I'm right, in Europe you get both promo-figs!

I went with the Hill Giant = 1 King Tiger (or something like that). When at his lair he has range of 4 and roles 3 dice. Else, his range is 1. He is only one figure but he has tough armor(skin) and requires two inf hits on one role to destroy. Use in place of normal tank group. May not be very balanced but it is fun.

I pre-ordered 2 copies of the game, and my hill giants still haven't arrived. Anyone else still waiting on theirs?

As I mentionned above, these are being sent in batches. If you ordered recently (say in the last two weeks for instance) your batch likely hasn't gone out yet. Just be assured that everyone will receive his promo minis in due time.
Also since those go out by mail, not UPS, we have no way to control the time to actual delivery.
