Mystery of the Abbey is back! Question. Wed, 24 March 2004 16:56
It is great to see Mystery of the Abbey back on shelves, so to speak...now we can buy gifts to spread the joy to others! Just curious...how popular is this game? Does anyone know how many copies have been sold to date? And how many copies are typically sold before you run into a backlog situation like we just experienced?

Mystery of the Abbey is a GREAT game...it has to be a huge source of pride. Hopefully its like McDonald's and someday we can all read the sign (over 4.6 billion sold!)

Thanks for such a fantastic gaming experience! Razz

Yes, we know (how many copies of our games sold) Laughing . While we do not disclose individual products sales data, our initial print runs on large box formats like Mystery of the Abbey are usually in the 10 - 15,000 units range. Reprints are typically larger since we have a better feel for the product's potential by then).

Last year Mystery and Pirate's Cove were our two largest sellers, selling out by Christmas in both instances. Pirate's Cove will be back in stock mid-May, Mystery just got back into our warehouses.

And yes, spread the faith! Very Happy
Eric

Yes, it's very easy to want to "spread the faith"...

I can only imagine what the Mystery of the Abbey's sales could be if only a certain big name toy manufacturer (who shall remain nameless) wouldn't be hogging Wal-Mart's shelves with such timeless offerings such as "Mary Kate and Ashley's Super Duper Sweet 16 Party Boardgame, Playset and Whatever Else We Can Fit Into The Box Cosmetics Extravaganza." Confused

But what can ya do? Razz

So go Days of Wonder!

We wanted to publish "Mary Kate and Ashley's Super Duper Sweet 16 Party Game", but the girls wouldn't sign off on any game play that had them pushed off the cliff of a monastary by a lunatic monk. Plus the cost of having the cosmetics produced in Germany was just to high! Laughing
