The pond will be fine sir but for the pool here is a strict "no Duck" policy. Flying over it on your torpedo will be fine, but be careful not to hit the other officers. As I said there is a "no duck" policy.

May I remind you fine officers that you still need to become experts on all fronts before you should even consider taking a dive in the pond or the pool. This resort is stricktly generals only ... unless you want to sign up for duty serving us.

But of course sir, another drink sir?
We just thought that since you never watched out the front window we could play around in the pond.
And if sir Lucky Duck flies over the pool he is not technically using it.

Esteemed gentlemen,
I apologize for the antics of my pet duck. I have removed him from the premises and instructed him not to return until there is a star on his shoulder in place of a bird.
There'll be no fowl fouling the water in this club!
Pets... sheesh.

Oberstleutnant Von Kleist, could you make us a golf court tile to put next to the brigadier bar tile?

Thanks so very much for the warm welcome. This place is certainly not the easiest watering hole to find but it's been a fun trip. Not sure exactly how I got here just tried to load up on some expert wins and continued working through the standard games then luckily enough today while enjoying a match with Hester24 not only were the dice gods smiling on me to pull off a pair of wins but I noticed after the fact I was sporting some nice new epaulettes. After this quick refreshment at the bar I look forward to seeing you all on the battle field. Cheers!

I think you mean Brigadier #26!
Too much time in the bar for you Phread... you jumped from 24 to 35 pretty rapidly.
Congrats BG Kain as a member of a smaller and more exclusive club.

Indeed, my mistake, though I think it was being to long away from the bar that caused the error.

I had hoped - incorrectly as it turned out - that there would have been an online release to coincide with the release of the new equipment pack.
It has taken too long for DoW to release a new version of M44 Online.
There are a number of bugs that should have been fixed and now new units and scenarios to include.
Perhaps we will get a new version to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the beta release to the public - though I won't hold my breath.

Well, when we were playing at WBC Mr Borg told us the following:
2014 is the 70th anniversery of D-Day, and the 10th anniversery of M44, so expect big things then
Now I hope that that doesn't mean we have a year or more without anything at all for the online version, on the other hand I think that means we are far from forgotten about

Kains record:
SFTF
WESTERN 33 scenarios
63 games, 42 wins
As Axis, 24 wins over 21 scenarios
As allies, 18 wins over 16 scenarios
EASTERN 25 scenarios
47 games, 31 wins
Axis 13 on 13
Allies 18 on 17
PACIFIC 28 scenarios
48 games, 32 wins
Axis 16 on 15
Allies 16 on 16
MED 25 scenarios
51 games, 29 wins
Axis 11 on 10
Allies 18 on 14
That a lot of different scenarios...
120 in fact
Do we have a suspiciously round number?

33+25+28+25 is not 120 ... however, it is >= 25 per front.
Also a nice round number.
Brigadier Generals are Experts from all sides.

I have to say, guys; you've created quite the community with this club and it looks like you're having a lot of fun!
You're already at 10 pages (!) of comments for this thread...I think only the topic that rivals it would be all of the combined FAQ threads we've had over the years (I think we're on the third sticky thread for that one).
Keep up the good work, gentelmen! Even though I'm not in the club, I have enjoyed peaking in the window and listening to the jokes every so often.

Lately that's been my humble opinion as well! And believe me...it's taking hours!
Some day I'll manage to earn the extra perks you guys enjoy as Brigadiers, but the longer it takes me the nicer things get in here, so I'm content to admire from a far at this point.
Have fun, and see you around (maybe even on the battle field someday soon)!

Why not? And I will make a special medal for if one eliminates a unit on it in one turn: "fire in the hole in one"

I personally prefer Midgetgolf as they have the advantage that they walk right back to you, so you never loose the ball.

Further report from Bletchley:
General Major Kain played an expert game 14/09/2012 05:08:02 at Nasan
Afterwards there is one that appears to be deleted, and he played another 2012-09-22 20:00:40
His promotion was 2012-09-21 20:35:16 at Wake Island
I belive that the triggering event for his promotion may have been the 2012-09-14 02:19:18 game at Relief of Tobruk, which was his 25 th Med SFTF game.
That his actual promotion took place 7 days later will be either:
1) There is a built in delay of a week
or
2) There is something needed in the Standard Scenario record

Record as Col:
Pacific
75 games
45 wins
Won all 7 as both sides
Eastern
65/94
Won all 8 including Warsaw as both sides
Med
73/107
Won all 13 as both sides
Western
79/120
Won all 21 as both sides
However this was accomplished before the 14/9/12, so nothing was completed after Tobruk
I recall upthread it has been said that some have been promoted without winning, or even playing, the basic scenarios again

You can have your billiard table back soon I promise.

As Colonel Helcat did not win all the new scenarios from both sides (he won one), nor did he win more than once from both sides.
He has more than 300 victories in each theatre.

Phread Sir:
I don't believe the requirement will be random, it will be complex however.
I think part of the initial issue was that people were looking at SFTF play as Colonel whereas indications are that it is an LTD figure that matters.
I will be pulling the full history of each new brigadeer as they are promoted - with changes to scenarios and deletions there is I think little point in looking at pre-existing Brigadeer careers. We can only look at each new one as they arrive

I downloaded and analysed the SFTF and standard careers of the 1st eight Brigadiers. I could not find a pattern in games played or victories won that would explain the variability in promotion to Brigadier.
Of course I am not a statistician so I may have missed the answer.

Based on all the variables that I looked at over the summer, I suspect that there is some other factor that DOW is tracking, but that isn't publicly available. (Just as we had to play against 25 Cadets to make Colonel.) I don't know what that X factor is, but it would be something that doesn't take up a lot of bytes and is easy for them to calculate.

If I am right above, 25 each theatre + 1 week we shall know soon.
If not, I can continue and look at the next person to be promoted.

I had at least 37 Expert wins on each front as a Colonel. See my July 3 post, on page 9 of this thread.
I have wondered about whether there might be a time delay disguising the promotion requirements (which would be very clever on their part), but when I analyzed several Brigadiers over the summer, I didn't find a common set of qualifications.

I too thought that there might be a delay of sorts. I had a particular theory as to what was needed, and when I reached it, nothing happened. I was a bit befuddled at that point as how to proceed. I decided I would just try to get more games under my belt in different EXPERT theaters. To my complete surprise, I was actually playing regular Online scenarios when my promotion to Brig. Gen. came about. So I think there may be a delay of some sort built in.
