Adding Chrome killed Ticket to Ride for me, too. I'm going to go try uninstalling the new Java. Thanks for the tip: hope it works!

I've not been able to get into ticket for ride for a couple of days now. At first I was getting java error messages and couldn't get into any games. A quick web search found me a solution and I can now get into all other games but when I click to play ticket to ride I get the Java connection message briefly (1 second max) then just a white screen of death and the window telling me "Done".
I've tried downloading the version recommended here and am in same situation.
Anyone know what the problem is and how to fix?
Help!

TTR not working with java 1.6.0.10.
Just installed - not working. Loading screen hangs. White screen. No loading bar.
Uninstalled back to 1.6.0.7 - working ok.
Thought you should know,

You bet I know
I filed a bug on Sun bug parade a month ago about this issue.
I'm still mad at them, they released .10 without taking care of the issue (which will be fixed in .11).
I'm forced to have a workaround on our side. It will be available tomorrow.

I never had a problem until today.
Using a Mac. Tried Firefox and Safari and get same result.
I can get into other games, but not TTR.
The "Testing Java and Server Connection" page very slowly loads, then I am told that I need to load Java. I am current with Java and have found no way for a mac to get an earlier Java version.

I think its quite clear, that TTR has problems.
GOF works, so as other java-games.
Hopefully Brice is updating some things.

Ok all, just found out from Monstar (who is in States) can get on with no problem. Does that mean the problem is it limited to Europe ?

FYI, this problem started around 12:30am EST (6:30am CET) Sunday. I got image not found errors with a popup to clear the browser/java cache. After that, I get a java not found error and, if I continue, the following applet errors:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: redir.class
Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed
load: class TTApplet.class not found.
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: TTApplet.class
Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed

You might want to contact customer support and let them know about the problem. That way Brice is usually contacted. Sure he does read the boards and all but contacting customer support will get the problem to him faster.

TTR hasnt been working since I upgraded my Java runtime engine to 1.6.0_07
Their Java check must be coded badly since it cant handle upgrades to the engine...

I am also experiencing problems with TTR, cannot enter the
lobby to play or observe. All other games function normally.
When I click "play" for TTR, I see the initial "testing the
connection" window but at the bottom of the browser there is
a message "applet redir not inited".
The java console has this information:
Java Plug-in 1.6.0_02
Using JRE version 1.6.0_02 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
load: class redir.class not found.
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: redir.class

at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadCode(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletPanel.createApplet(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.createApplet(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletPanel.runLoader(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletPanel.run(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed.
at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.getBytes(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.access$100(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source)
at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
... 10 more
Additionally, manual entry of a URL for one of the working
applications provides a download box:
http://games.queens-necklace.com/applet/redir.jar
While trying the same thing for TTR errors out with an HTTP
403 error:
http://games.ticket2ridegame.com/applet/redir.jar
This appears to be the root of the problem - a missing file
in the ticket2ride server's applet directory. It will impact
every client connecting with the same java method.
Hope it gets fixed soon.

Caboose - FYI, I filed a support request around noon today. It appears that, in addition to not reading the forums, DOW must not look at the support requests on the weekend.

I contacted customer support with the same observations I posted earlier, and recieved an automated response with a ticket number and the following content:
"This is an automatic response showing that your message was received and that it will be answered as quickly as possible.
Our response delay may vary significantly depending on the number and urgency of messages. For Customer Service and Technical support, we generally answer within 1 to 3 working days. We always try to answer as fast as possible, within the limits of working hours of course (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM French/German time). Thank you for your understanding."
I decided to post here as a way of informing other users of the possible cause of the issue, and of my opinion that it will have to be fixed on the server side, rather than a generic problem with clients or with client versions of java.
Feel free to ignore the information if you so choose - but assuming I didn't follow their suggested process is unwarranted.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one! I e-mailed customer support today around 13:00 EST. Still no reply.
Amazing that one minute I was playing and a few minutes later I'm not and I didn't change a thing with my 'puter.

Sorry for the inconvenience, the download server got mad this week-end and didn't want to serve the Ticket to Ride applet.
I fixed the issue this morning, I do apologize for the inconvenience.
Good games.

I switched into the new system today, and I'm able to see the changes to the 'My Account' screen. When I try to play Ticket to Ride, it tells me I don't have the current Java needed. I've checked this on two different Macs, on running OSX 10.4 and one with 10.5. Both have all current Software updates (including latest Java). Neither one of them is able to connect to the online game.
When I go to java.com the only instructions it has for Macs is to run Software Update. Am I the only Mac user with this problem? Can you provide me with instructions as to how to get the game working again? Is there a way to revert to my old time code account in order to play for now?

Make sure to activate Java 1.5 in your Java Preferences on your mac (it is in /Applications/Utilitiles/Java/Java Preferences).
