From having played Wits & Wagers I can say that I expect the game will be a big hit for gaming parties on the other sides of the Atlantic.

It looks just like Wits and Wagers in terms of game play. Does it play the same essentially? Just wondering since I have W&Ws if it's worth even buying this or am I just duplicating a game I already have in my collection?

You're duplicating a game in your collection. This is "Wits & wagers for the rest of the world." The questions will be different but specific to those countries that are the targetted release. So if you want "British Wits & Wagers" - get the english Edition of Gambit 7.

Apart from questions the betting rules are changed quite much. I played W&W only once (G7 also once) so i cant say witch rules i like better.

W&W rules give players more options and you really bet your chips.
In G7 you always "bet" two chips, but there is a gambit option that makes it possible to score really big if you place it on a right answer, but if you fail your score is zero.

In more competitive environment i think W&W rules make more sense, since you don't stand much chance against a successful gambit... but gambit rule makes it possible to come back from behind even with considerably large score gap, so if it's all about fun and answering ridiculous questions G7 rules also work fine.

I haven't played it, but this looks indeed like a very good party-game.
