I don't read French, so I still don't really understand what this is all about. So somone correct me if I'm wrong, or if I'm missing something. But my understanding is that this whole debate -- or at least much of it -- has to do with the fact that Monette is Captain of one team and helped another Captain find some players for a different team. If that is all that this is about, then I have to ask: how could any rational person possibly get worked up about this? I barely even know Monette, but I have played her from time to time and I know that she has played more than 8,800 games over the past 3 1/2 years. I also know that I have NEVER had the slightest reason to believe that she has cheated, nor have I ever heard anyone else accuse her of cheating. Does anyone seriously believe that she is going to help another team win because because she helped their Captain find players for his team? What would be the motive? So that she and the other captain could split the one million Euros in prize money? Oops . . . I forgot. There's no prize money. It's a free, for-fun tournament.

This ain't the Olympics, people. It's a free, for-fun tournament in which nothing is at stake. Not that I condone cheating but, even if someone did cheat, who really cares? If you cheat your way to victory in a free, for-fun tournament, you win nothing for your achievement and you have to go through the rest of your life with the shame of knowing that you are a complete loser. Sounds to me like an all-around bad deal for the cheater. In this case, however, there isn't the slightest evidence that anyone is cheating. Hence, the only people who are acting like losers are the ones who have convinced themselves that a respected, long-time player has suddenly decided to cheat in a tournament where there is absolutely nothing at stake.
