I neither have time to read all forum news (especially not the one you mean) nor have time to control if its pure cheating or just the 259th 2nd account. I warn other players and I know there are interested ones...

Your "daughter" has won her 5th game versus ANU, funny strength... I bet she was lucky about losing vs "her"...

play on T2R - but not with me any more...

It would be better if the persons involved discussed this directly before taking the jump to making public accusations.

I for one, saw some of the discussion in the lobby, but did NOT see the game. I highly doubt if zoubaier or saphira were doing anything to cheat that the response would have been so forthright about identity, etc.

I'll play vs zoubaier (and likely lose) any time. I've yet to play vs saphira and if I do, I hope my ego can stand to lose to her as well. Wink

Hello?

The pope has an own account?!?

What is so difficult to see why players are [bip] off of this behaviour, this lobby in the meanwhile has so much little [bip] i wonder if you all be treated like this in real life too - you cant be serious!

PLAY ON but save these comments or better: write your personal darlings PMs so that they all now about your loyal behaviour!

The anonymity of the www has created millions of options to act stupid way and childish like some prefer here or else where in chatrooms or lobbies.

We have a former #1 player in this lobby who disqualified himself for life here and NOBODY REACTS except 4 players, you discuss ANY [bip] freaking new found tourney but dont look at the fact that they micky you?!?

I tell you ONE THING: THIS WAS NOT A "DAUGHTER" THAT PLAYED 160 GAMES - NEVER! And everybody should know that...

Yes, Mudda - this is the POPE and you are in trouble now. Razz

I'm not entirely sure WHAT you want. Zoubaier was very clear in his prior post about what the account has been used for. INCLUDING his occasional use of said account to protect a ranking. Frankly, I don't care as long as whomever I play does so on even ground with me. I don't need to know if it is a first, second or tenth account.

You don't have time to read things on the board - yet YOU have time to rant about such things. Rolling Eyes

I guess this is what I get for attempting to be a moderating influence. But, I forget, you are the troll living under the bridge, are you not? Shocked

I get a laugh when you mock me for interpreting intentions in the lobby. Why? Because you are similarly making conclusions about others with only a little bit more information. I choose to look at it from a positive - you from a negative.

For the record Mudda, I don't need to play you either. There are many other fine individuals who gladly take my points when I offer them. Laughing

As for being loyal - yep, that's me. A lapdog at best. Shocked

But, the reality is this. I've played you a couple of times. Even warned you that I had a flaky connection - and you still chose to complain about it. Pooor Mudda, I have wronged you so. Crying or Very Sad

On the other hand, I have played zoubaier and was treated fairly and politely. If he stole my socks, I would be very disappointed in him. If you stole my socks, I'd say you deserve them.* Rolling Eyes

In any event, you have a right to your opinion.

(*note - a farmer's socks are usually fragrant)

Final post from my side to this topic:

1. Thx gff for your post here.

2. Thx to all who didn't want to make a public discussion, but who wrote a friendly PM to me.

3. Thx especially to maunaloa. You're right, we're in a similar situation, newcomers among the competitive players, not 100% familiar with the code of conduct, not familiar with all the discussions in the past. I carefully read all the links you sent me, concerning the discussion about 2nd accounts.

4. I repeat my promise posted a few weeks ago in the thread "declaration of honour": I promise not to cheat. I promise not to boost my score by playing other accounts i can manipulate. I never thought of doing things like this in the past.

5. And in the future, I'll never play again under my daughter's nick. I respect the posts e.g. from Schwen, that my opponent has the right to know, against whom he's playing.

I hope, we can stop the discussion concerning me and my daughter now. I hope, most of the top players will still play against me in the future. And if some are not willing to do this, I'll accept this.

Re:WARNING Thu, 08 July 2010 04:55
I can appreciate the idea of using 2nd accounts to get games with the top players - a lot of the top players in this game have gone into a defense mode to protect their rankings and as such can be quite elusive and tough to get a game against.

I feel it is a valid strategy to use a 2nd account to take on a higher ranked opponent in this game and i do not feel it necessary for a top player to know anything about their opponents going into a game - if a player is on their game (paying attention) they should be able to adapt to playing against any number of different types of players and or strategies

with paranoia at an all time high after recent events i can also appreciate the views on the other side of this issue and it is probably not clear cut

cheers to gff, mudda, and zoub and others if they can move past this episode to get along and play some trains

I disagree completely, Blubes

reasons
1)ELO
Unless the 2nd account has the same rating that you have, doing that flaws the ELO system (and is highly unfair towards an opponent who cares about his points).
If I win/lose against you I deserve the points that YOU are worth, not the points of a 2nd account used by your kids or whatever.

A 2nd account used only by you flaws the ranking.
If you are the second best player in the world you would expect to be ranked 2nd - right?
What if the best player has 20 active "2nd accounts" - bad luck, now you're 21st Rolling Eyes
There are people who care whether they are top 100, top 200, top 300, whatever. No idea where your 2nd account lurks around, but it will hurt some of them.

2) Knowing your oppenent does make a difference
Why do football coaches watch the opponents before they play them? Rolling Eyes
Of course good players can adapt to different styles. So they play different against those styles. Sometimes that means, you have to do it from the start, because it's too late as a reaction. e.g. don't take certain ticks against a blocker, play an important route early if your opp is known to start placing tracks at 30 cards, ...

One more to list. Game happen about 13:20 CET

OLABILAB

Well, not my style to make a public denunce but his action took too much my (bips).

He showed he had problems drawing cards, He left and come back take 2 or 4 cards more and said he continue with problems. And so several times. Not sense at all but we decided to abort game. I left but then he didnt! I come back to game to ask what was his way. Left again and come back for 2 times more and then I dont able to return to game.

He ended against my bot.

Be careful! If he simulate problems with browser (chrome he say) just send him to hell.

monacomat (player ID 581926):

info about our game, make your own minds up

- opens game when ranked around 1460, requirement 1450+, game set as cards visible
- my tickets: van-mon and ssm-okl
- monaco's tickets: both Duluth tickets
- game start monaco
- move 1: van-sea
- my move draw 2 closed
- move 2: draw matching colours open
- my move: three to van
...
- over next moves by monaco, lots of drawing blacks open
...
- as soon as I reach 1 black+3 locos: three to Mon
- as soon as I reach five blacks (incl locos): 5 blacks to Mon
- later in game, need three orange/blacks to connect, no move to block for several moves as only have two oranges and two blacks (no major play of blacks or oranges by me)
- as soon as I draw the third monaco blocks

I have hardly ever publicly accused anyone of cheating before, but this to me was the most clearcut ever. still I won Laughing

If you want to play a game with your cards and tickets on the table, then join monaco's 1450 game - its good practice

Maybe monaco can play League, SPWC and NC and we can all agree to some rules that IF the opp doesn't want to play open, games may be closed.

For some reason I've been having this happen more lately.

Players enter game. We start and then there is a bot. I wait for a bit, leave to check on things - and find them with an open game waiting for a player....

I have yet to finish any games where this happens. but, it sure is tempting to do it.

Think you ask your op to wait since you do not see a map. Cards, yes, Tickets yes, but NO map.

He waits for you to go out and come back in, at some time you can't make it back in.

He plays the game. WOW what a hero. Way to go vball99mp.

How low can you get???

2 night in a row, Will & Kao played on bots in multis.

1st night : i left before choosing tix cause i asked to play a 4er, and magically game started as a 5er. Was maybe my mistake to ask only once in the game. Just simple to respect someone's word... Halik also left, but Kao, Will & Kyzla played on 2 bots the whole game.

TOnight : Brutuss got booted having 20-15 trains left fighting for longest, but everybody (colo (sadly), black is back, kao and will) agreed to play on cause it was funner to see how the battle of blocks would end.

I thought those practices were not supposed to exist among top players...
No wonder why playing some kind of multis hasn't been that much fun lately.

Or maybe i'm the old f***er that needs a hug... Evil or Very Mad

I saw the first night's game. I can't believe they play almost the whole game with 2 bots. Amazingly enough SysBOT came in 3rd!

This second night sounds even worse of an offense - someone getting booted rather than leaving by choice.

Which brings me to a question. When other players are going to play on when they shouldn't, should you leave or stay? The first night's game with Sys, Halik left and Kao said everyone should quit, but when Will and Kyzla wouldn't he stayed and played - which is fair in my book, but props to Halik for leaving and sucking up a last place in a 5er.

Re:WARNING Sun, 03 April 2011 16:36
So, you play someone with 1550-1650. It's your 30+ game with this person. The guy seems to be a chatty, friendly decent player, and because you've played him in 30+ open games, he seems to be legit. At the very last turn you get disconnected. You come back, the bot has played a stupid move, your opponent acknowledges the fact that he did not deserve the win. Offers his "condolences" and offers a re. Later, you reed he did not consider the possibility of offering to leave the game, because he never had an opponent leave during the last turn. You learn that he doesn't care about the points.

What do you do ?

A. You suggest, during the game, that because you were botted, maybe both leaving would be a good idea.
B. You take the loss, look at your own avatar, and decide not to whine.
C. You're upset and ask in the lobby WTF is wrong with your opponent and come to the conclusion he had no idea, after which you crush him in the next three games.
D. You start shouting abuse about bad sportsmanship, and write in colored capitals how your opponent is the spawn of Satan, comparing him to some of the biggest nutcases around, completely disregarding his explanations and acknowledgements during the game and afterwards. Furthermore, you make an attempt to use as many stupid emoticons and question marks as possible and combine this with badly written English.

Zero points for you, WhiteTrain.

Ahhhhh thanks Trucker, you opened my eyes with your brilliant english language Laughing . I am still marvelling about your posting , which is almost free of mistakes.

A) There was no time to propose anything. He finished the game pretty quick, after i returned.

B) I didnt whine. I just said welcome to the ignore list, which made him write a book about it.

C) a player, who is too blind to see the right move at the end of the game, is probably too blind to see it in the middle of the game either. Bulls..t talking about - It was the last move and i didnt have that before. (Where is the difference? If you know how to do it after 20 moves, why you forget to do it on the last turn?) So why i should give him the chance to do it again in a RE.

D) You are right, i shouldnt have reacted to his foolish excuses at all.

1 point for you Trucker, let me subtract 1 point for your spelling errors and comma faults. Then it looks like a tie 0-0.
