After playing I have a few questions

I love this pirate game from DOW but after playing it I have a few questions that I can't find answers to in the rules
1. If you run thru the legendary pirates deck before the game is over do they get reshuffled into the game?
2. when a new legendary pirate is put into the game(after a previous one is defeated) where does it begin?
3. Is combat the number of die of crew and cannon combined? (just checking on this one)
Thanks for your help

This will never happen! To run through the whole deck, players would have to defeat every Legendary Pirate. There aren't enough turns in the game or strength in your ships to do that.

The Legendary Pirate will start where the last one left off. I'm not totally possitive about this one, so other people might correct me.

No; it's the highest number they both share. So if you have 4 crew but only 3 cannon, you only shoot with 3.
I hope this helps! Enjoy.

Thanks for the help. That clears up a few things for me.
By the way, love that quote you found there.

Glad to help. Post any other questions that come up and people on the forum will try to help you with them!
I thought the quote was pretty interesting when I found it. If you haven't already discovered it, I would suggest that you try another Days of Wonder game: Memoir '44! It's my favorite board game ever and has a World War II theme (which is why I have the quote from Churchill).

For question #2, I thought that the pirate started at island #1, but I may have misunderstood this. As a variant to the game, I like to have the legendary pirates move randomly each turn based on a die roll (after the players choose their island, but it could be before if you prefer).

Good to know. I guess I've been playing it wrong all along. Oh well - it was fun either way!
