Battlecry 150 Waouuu!	Fri, 08 April 2011 02:17

I just received the 150th anniversary special Battlecry edition. I Never played that game before. I saw pictures online & read about defaults & qualitie of the game. So I bought it without fog of war. WAOUUUU ... The quality is much better than on the pictures and than all the critics! I feel now all thoses forum squatters are so negatives! I love it! Great to be back to simplicity ... the ol'time style of the map and hexes is beautifull. The figs itselves are lovely and so differents (3 kinds of fig to make a complete artillery unit)! WOW ... and the generals jumping from one unit to another! 30 scenarios ... means 60 battles with EACH FRIEND ... in the base box! (no extentions to wait and buy for years!)! TY RICHARD! PS (again): forget thoses eavy damn "C&C Napoleonics" and "The Eagle & Lion" and DO THE SAME SIMPLE THING WITH 30 MAIN BATTLES OF NAPOLEON: I BUY IT WHATEVER THE PRICE! I just bought a copy this afternoon. Intelligence sources suggest Achtung Panzer did as well. Tonight will be a Gettysburg night after I have stuck a load of flags on. Happy days [Report message to a moderator]

The ONLY thing negative I have to say about BC150 is the flags suck... they stick together ok but don't stick to the plastic fig flag stand... They separate and slip. But that is an adhesive problem. Maybe wipe the fig flag tab with acetone first? [Report message to a moderator]

agreed - but its only a matter of applying a bit of PVA glue and bobs your aunties husband! Also on a negative point - it does not appear to have the support in the shape of official forums like this. [Report message to a moderator]

I've said before that this community and the DoW support for Memoir '44 is head and shoulders above that for the other C&C variants. We're very lucky and I certainly appreciate it! Very Happy

I have the original battle cry from avalon hill-hasbro. What are the improvements (if any) in this new game that makes it a worthwhile a purchase? Is it Ok to discuss this in this forum? [Report message to a moderator]

Well maybe as the Evolution of a game system? the 150 has twice the scenarios and a different mini mix. There are 2 kinds of Generals, mounted and unmounted. But only the mounted are used. and the Guns... oh my the Guns are cool, one cannon fig with man and a separate mini fig ramrod holder. [Report message to a moderator]

And a spotter. Gun crew are superb - crying out to be painted.

This is a brief review I wrote in an email, discussing my first battle

apart from the fact that I was beat by an 11 year old boy the game went well.

The game is as you would expect very similar in function to m44 but there are some differences, infantry can move one and shoot - dont appear to be able to move 2 and not shoot.

The generals are a novel touch. I like the tactic cards, out of supply and sharpshooter. Sharpshooter is you target a general and roll the dice looking for a sabre - advance 80 years or so and you get barrage.

The scenario we played was good,2nd Bull Run - have a re reun this afternoon. Difficulty for the union troops is confederate artillary is parked on top of a hill and he gets bonus range - 6 instead of 5. Anything that appeared in front of him got blasted

Yeah... gun crews!!! that is another change aside from some card stuff is the original game had 2 guns, this has one gun and 2 extra for a total of 3 figs for the guns. [Report message to a moderator]
