I have given a very quick peek at my results. I think I played more then 3000 battles in total up to now. That includes Solo, Multi and Expert battles played before and after my promotion.

Back to the topic:

3000 combined games in Expert mode and Online is a common theme.

By my count (from the downloaded excel battle data) Nygaard meets this criteria Helcat doesn't.

If we could pile some of these in the cooler, I would appreciate it.

Good luck finding what my record has in common with Nygaard and Helcat. I couldn't find it.

There could be something to the expectation that you author expert scenarios.

Yesterday I put up a short scenario that may have been the first I have put in the SFTF section for the Eastern front. I had played it dozens of times, with people, before doing this. Perhaps the games do not count toward your record if the scenario was a private one? Or perhaps the scenarios need to be played so many times out of the SFTF section. Or maybe some other event was triggered by whatever games I have played recently.

I was promoted after a win at the Meat Grinder in what the online game counts as my 1320th battle. I have not played so many battles with Johnny and Hermann, so I doubt my total number of battles is 3000, or even 2000.

A very warm welcome to General Henry Pelham.

Dear sir, tell us your story on your road towards here.

Especially for this occasion I ordered a live band to play in the Brigadier Bar. The band is having a small problem with their line-up, but their music is awesome.

Furthermore Colonel Jeronimon can you take care of the needs of General Pelham and hop, hop, hop to the store to get some Dogfish Heads to fill up the cooler.

General Pelham, I assume that it is not your intention to replace the star symbol on the dice with a fish symbol. Given your officer record, I presume that you are aware that Memoir'44 does not have the option to order submarines with a fish.

Nevertheless a very warm welcome.

Congratulations to Brigadier General #3 Brigadier General Henry Pelham

I have downloaded the battle results for Helcat, Nygaard, Henry Pelham (and myself) and cannot find a common pattern in the battle results of the three Brigadier General's upto the point at which they were promoted.

As Colonel in SFTF battles vs real opponents
Helcat played 156 won 101 distinct victories 68
Nygaard played 130 won 69 distinct victories 45
Henry Pelham played 240 won 149 distinct victories 76

Phread played 179 won 95 distinct wins 46 - not promoted (yet)

Copngratulations, Henry!

I suspect it is the unpublished scenarios that were holding you back. Unfortunately, there is no way to go back and count them... Smile

I'm at 57 unique wins. I hope to be joining you soon -- and when I do, I'll bring some Yuengling -- America's Oldest brewery -- from Pennsylvania, the best state in the union... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuengling

Well with Yuengling on the die, one would be able to order troops from the 101 'Screaming Eagles' airborne division.

Congrats Henry ... Well done.

I don't know about your theory: I have published scenario's on all 4 fronts too. They have been played by several players.
On the other hand, when I play them myself, I invite players by selecting the scenarios from the "my scenarios" tab, to make it cost 1 GI less. I hope that does not make those games invalid for a promotion ... Sad Sad

Dear Sirs,

May I have a warm welcome to Brigadier General hester24

Dear Sir,

Congratulations on your promotion, and welcome to this bar. Please take a seat in one of those fine chairs and tell us of your whereabouts.

It looked like Spring when you started your career, and you were frolicking on the medow lands between the Caen Canal and the Orne. And here we are, Winter, at least in the Northern hemisphere. And you have been biting the bullits all across Europe, Asia and Africa. But let me not take the words out of your mouth. Please tell us on your road towards here and the endeavours you have undertaken.

As we can not let this event pass by unnoticed, I ordered a little string orchestra to cheer up this moment.

And please Colonel Jeronimon, can you make sure that General Hester24's feet are washed and his costume ironed; he has had a long day. If you pass by at the pantry would you be able to bring some more of that excellent Vichy beer.

What, SIR, made the difference?

Is it the number of SFTF scenarios you have posted/played?

Have you a theory?

Re:Brigadier Bar Wed, 01 February 2012 10:16
Dear sirs, I have been noticably absent in the Brigadier bar the last couple of days. But not without reason.

Because of the requests made so far it was clear fairly quickly that the possibilities of the Brigadier Bar were stretched beyond their limits. The "open bar" policy adopted to welcome all officers in the Brigadier Bar made it perfectly clear: Changes had to be made.

I am glad and proud to anounce that I got my hands on an invaluable item. I will not disclose how I got it excatly, but let's say people were contacted, arms were twisted and bribes were payed. And now we have got ourselves an (drum roll): Infinite Fridge, room for all things that need to be stored cold. All Beer Brands discussed in the thread are there or have been ordered.

I was just looking into the snacks (promising ideas there) but had to put that on hold because I needed to build an expansion on the bar. This because someone (I name no names Cool ) wanted to have a Little String Orchestra in here. (Officers can want the strangest things. Rolling Eyes ) Well we managed that on time to welcome Brigadier General hester24.

Congratulations sir, well done!

I will now look into the snack issue some more. And have some other plans to further improve the Brigadier Bar. I will keep you posted.

How will I get some fighting done in between stuff I don't know. Very Happy

Thank you Colonel Jeronimon you are a Genie. Very Happy

Dear Sirs and visitors can I have your pat on the back for colonel Jeronimon, for not only building the theatre hall that was required to celebrate the promotion of Brigadier General Hester 24; in three days, but for also for his collaboration with General Pelham in providing us swiftly with Vichy beer and for taking care of that enormous refrigerator. Cool!

Congratulations Hester and Jokull.

I heartily approve the addition of cognac to the Brigadier Bar.

One thing this group of brigadiers have in common: all have been playing expert, on a fairly regular basis, for several months.

haven't we all done that too?

I don't think we've heard from anyone yet who has played a lot of expert, but not designed them...

I'll be the first when I get enough battles.

I'd prefer that designing battles weren't part of the requirements. That is a surefire way to get a lot of poorly designed scenarios in the SFTF section...

I'm happy to see that all of you are the first to Brigadier, as many of the Colonel promotions were delayed because you were playing so much expert.

Because of all of you, expert is a better mode for all of us. Thanks!

X expert scenarios a month for X months, or X days after the Xth expert win ... ?

Possible -- hard to say...

It still looks like to me that all of you had around 65-70 unique wins around the time of promotion. Except for Henry, but apparently a lot of them were unpublished...

I made it to 65 unique wins. I have no idea how many total SFTF wins I have now. I'll start alternating expert and official scenarios to see when I get promoted.

Of course, if I have to design more to be promoted then it will be awhile. I refuse to publish scenarios that are below standard. Also, my only real interest in designing scenarios is the Western front, so I'm not sure that will help with the promotion.

Welcome Brigadier General Jokull,

It has been an honour playing on your terrain and I am glad to welcome you in this bar. I do appreciate the choice of liquor you brought to this bar. It will fit the atmosphere.

It must have been said that we appear to owe it to a German Lieutenant that we can still drink Cognac.

Conductor, play us another song!

A very warm welcome to Brigadier Phread.

He, whom has sought for so long has found it.
It must have taken him half a year drifting across the oceans to be able to fight on battlefields across the world and find this Bar, where the Endz finally meet.

Brigadier Phread, take a seat, take your boots off and throw them in a corner, turn them around first to let the water flow out and then tell us on your road towards here.

Brigadier #6 Brigadier Phread. Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

My results (SFTF as Colonel vs real opponents)

I am not sure if (up to) 5 of my wins should count.

Played 192 Won 105 54.69%
Axis 100 Won 55 55.00%
Allies 92 Won 50 54.35%

western played 60
Axis Victory 14

mediterranean played 44
Axis Victory 11
Allies Victory 12

pacific played 56
Axis Victory 19
Allies Victory 11

Distinct Wins: Axis 28 Allies 27 Total 55

If 5 victories are discounted I had 100 wins, 54 distinct (most of the 5 were at one scenario).

The win in a standard victory (Montelimar of course) to achieve promotion pushed me back into the top 100 players (again).

I have only implemented and posted 1 SFTF scenario - Maleme Airfield from the Crete Campaign. (It is an implementation of the DoW scenario.) So perhaps we can discount the hypothesis that creating and posting SFTF scenarios is a requirement.

So is it rank < 100 & 100+ SFTF wins & > 50 distinct/unique SFTF wins?
(Général de brigade Nygaard didn't meet these criteria when he was promoted.)

Well, I'm going to be late to the party then. I still only have 76 total SFTF victories, but 69 of them are unique. And I really hope it has nothing to do with rank. I've hit a slump and I'm around 470 at the moment.
