Preview map not displayed Tue, 17 April 2012 18:22
Greetings:

I just created a scenario and tested, modified and played from my scenarios while it was still private.

I then opened the game fro DOW changed the status to public and the preview map (what you see when you click on the game) is no longer visible.

I then opened from DOW changed the status to private and the preview map was displayed.

What is my problem?

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Another twist!

I rebuilt the game from scratch, saved as public to DOW. In my scenarios the preview map did not display. Uploaded from DOW made it private and saved to DOW. The preview map is now displayed.

Deleted game.

Rebuilt game moving Axis to top ( just in case this was causing it). saved as public to DOW. No preview map. Uploaded from DOW made it available in the SFTF and the preview map is displayed!

Maybe this is normal?

Hi Hamblylake,

If there is a problem with a scenario that will prevent it from playing online or doesn't meet the parameters allowed (sometimes you don't know what they are)it will not show in the preview. I once had too many mines for the theater chosen in my scenario and it did not show in preview. I would imagine that having the Axis on the 'bottom' did not meet the online parameters and prevented the scenario from showing.

Hi,

I can see preview map on your scenario 'Astrang River Crossing ver 1.0'. The axis forces on the bottom side of the map is not a problem since my scenario "Batle of the Bzura" is constructed in such manner and the preview map is also visible.

So in my opinion it could be some kind of lag on the server side or you've just tried to make public more than one scenario.

Yeah - what Looney said, plus - we really need to put it on the Wiki everytime we locate another odd problem (such as too many mines causing a problem) because DoW doesn't have the resources to check all combinations or fix all problems encountered.

This might help:
I noticed that when a scenario is public, the map shows in preview when you look at it on the tab "SFTF scenarios", but not on the tab "my scenarios" of the online game.
When it is private, you see the map in preview on "my scenarios" but of course, the scenario is not available on "SFTF".

Thanks Guys.

I did have another game that was public but not checked for SFTF. I wonder if you can only have one public game at a time?

Hamblyake,

You can only have one scenario at a time public.

Hey Guys,
Help me out here. Where do I find the place to check my public "My Scenario" to become a SFTF? I'm only finding it in my scenarios, published as public, but not getting map, info, and the means to click on play. Not seeing it in SFTF. Thanks for all the previous help!
