Other Historical Games?? Tue, 24 July 2012 14:04
Greetings!

Anyone know of any other good Historical type war games like Memoir 44 ?
I know there is Battle Cry for the Civil War, and Battle Lore for fantasy.

How about a cool game for the Anglo-Zulu War and Rorke's Drift?

The American Revolutionary War?

The basic ideas of Memoir 44 (cards , dice, small figs) could be adapted for war games of different eras. I have a notebook of different ideas, and was just wondering if there was anything else out there to get some ideas from. I have history books on the subjects.

Thanks!

Hi Sgt. Carter

I don't know if there is any M44 style game on Anglo-Zulu war or American Civil War, but I do know that there are other two Mr. Borg Series on Ancient and Napoleonics time: Command and Colors Ancients and Command and Colors Napoleonics have both no miniatures, with units represented by wooden blocks. Aside that their system is the same of M44 and Battlelore.

And then, just in these days, it will be published an other Borg game on medieval Japan: Samurai Battles.

Hoping to be of some help,

I agree on both counts!! Laughing

I'm interested in getting the Japanese game and I really like Richard Borg's games so I might end up getting the other ones (even though they use blocks), but in my mind, nothing beats Memoir '44 for production and fun! Smile

Good luck in your design ideas. Cool
