Ticket to Ride - board game to online play Wed, 12 September 2012 01:48
Hi, I purchased the board game a while ago and inside there is a code that you can register so that you can play online. I inputted the code and the icon shows up as being a registered game. Now I cannot for the life of me figure out how to play online...

I did play online and use up all my trial games prior to inputting this code.

Help would be greatly appreciated!!!

The system has changed a bit since the Ticket to Ride manuel was printed. It used to be that the computer version was decent and you got free access to it after inputing a certain number of codes (two or three, I believe).

Several years ago DoW did a huge overhaul of their computer version and improved the game a whole bunch. They also changed the way game codes work and now you get a 10% discount when you buy something (including a computer version) on their web site.

You no longer get free access to any games but can buy them online. The games are much better than they used to be and you can use the code you put in to get 10% off the $9.99 price. I hope this helps! Cool

Yes, sadly I think you're something like 4 years too late for free access...so don't feel too bad. You missed it by a lot. Razz

If you have two codes, you can actually use them both and get 10%+10% = 20% off the computer version! Cool

Laughing Laughing Every little bit counts! Cool

Actually, a lot of people use the codes (and the discount that comes with it) tobuy larger games like the physical copy of Ticket to Ride because then you're getting a lot more of a discount. Smile

or people use them to buy alot at once, like a boardgame, a few expansions and the online version of another game. Maybe another game as a gift for someone else ... if your total bill is like 150 euro/dollar, suddenly 10 percent is a big deal.
