Rules Question Europe Version Mon, 22 October 2012 23:28
Have to say that the rules are pretty badly worded.

Example. I have a train station in Sarajevo to link my yellow route from Athena to Sarajevo with my opponents red route from Sarajevo to Budapest. Can I then build a route with my yellow trains from Sofia to Zagreb going through Sarajevo?

Yet to play this game but wanting to get rules straight before starting

Thanks

I've played this game tons of times, but I can't figure out what you're trying to do...because I can't picture your situation. I suspect that many (or all) of your questions will be answered easily when you're able to actually play the problem.

I'll give this a shot, anyway...

You can use a station to 'borrow' your opponents track between one city and another. The station can only be used for one section. You must have your own trains connecting to the city in some way, and you can continue your route on the far side of the 'borrowed' track. You lose the 'longest route' bonus if you have to borrow another player's track.

Does that help at all? Smile

Thanks for your reply

The question seems easier to ask verbally than in writing!!

The easiest way I can ask this question is say the station is in the middle of a clock face to complete a route between 3 and 9 o'clock can I still run other routes through the station from 6 to 12 o clock using my own coloured trains?

The clock is a great way to explain your question!! Now I understand. Very Happy

Let's say that you already own the track from 9 to the center of the clock but your opponent has the route from the center of the clock to 3. By placing your station in the center of the clock, you can now use his trains to get to 3. You are welcome to send other trains through the center (like your example of 6-12) and this does not change anything with the station.

You could also build a track directly from 3 over to 4, and still get credit for reaching 4 because the station allowed you to get to 3.

I hope that helps! Cool Let us know if you have any other questions or if this is still causing trouble.

Personally, I like the TTR: Europe version the best out of all of them so I think you are safe to get the game and give it a try. Enjoy! Smile
